I just saw this new dress code posted on the website.... Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men.
Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats. Since baseball hats are expressly prohibited on Cruise Elegant nights, does that mean they are allowed on Cruise casual nights? I wonder what management will think up next.

Marc is this an April Fools? I can not find this new dress code on RSSC.com - this is what I see: What to Pack Attire ranges from country club casual to informal and formal. Country Club casual (resort-style outfits) is appropriate for daytime on board ship or ashore. Evening attire can be Country Club casual, informal or formal. Casual wear includes open neck shirts, slacks and sport outfits. For informal evenings, dresses or pantsuits, coats and ties are suggested. Formal evening-wear is gowns and cocktail dresses, tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits.

We'd have to book many months ahead so our teams of personal trainers, plastic surgeons and dieticians could perform miracles!

Karen, shoes are defintely optional if clothing is. Ngaire can speak for herself, but I don't think she would be anxious to accompany a group like that. Unlike the river cruise where she could not wait until 2010, I suspect in this instance she would wait forever!! ;)

Marc, funny, just about how I think of Carnival.
As for the naturist cruises, what a hoot! But no nips and tucks required--nudism is about accepting your body as it is. Really!

Imagine booking a trip on Regent and finding out half the ship is a naturist group! Now if Karen was really adept with her computer, I could list a link to a U-Tube video from one of these cruises and she could replace all the faces with members of LCT!! Imagine all the free time those cruisers have-no need to get dressed before dinner, let alone the empty closets.

Can't even imagine such a cruise though I've seen a few whales beached around the pool. :D

Marc I read that and was scared for a second until I realised it was April Fools day. I thought RSSC had really lost it. LOL.
As for the nude cruising...it's bad enough seeing some of us in our bathing suits (myself included in that group). I certainly don't wish to see more of someone. (well maybe one or two exceptions. ;) )

A friend who is an entertainer on ships, told me a story of his reaction when putting on his act for a group of nudists who had chartered the 1200 passenger ship. One of Costa's. He asked them all to stand and then be seated. This way he got the applause before he started !!
