Calling Sheri, Suzanne and Tonya....

We've been home from the PG for 5 days now :( and I am missing all of you.... There is no one here who makes me laugh like all of you. :app: :mecry:

So... since I need my nightly "laughter fix" I was thinking... we need to start a thread about funny cruise stories. Sheri's "honeymoon" and Suzanne's meeting with the "friends of Bill W" come to mind! (I'm betting that if you havn't heard Suzanne's "Friends of Bill W story" and you beg and plead with her.... she might tell it)

The funniest one (I know some of you have already heard it) is the one several years ago about the lady on the PG who cslled room service and ordered a baked potato with everything, which seemed to confuse the person taking the order as he asked her to repeat her order twice. She went to take a shower and when room service came to the door, her husband yelled in to her to find out what she had ordered because they were delvering 1 of everhthing on the menu "with a baked potato" :3smile:

I had a friend who was a waiter on a transatlantic line. The elderly people streched out in deck chairs covered in blankets.in those days. My friend was carrying a bowl of pea soup on his tray when the ship swayed and the soup spilled all over an old chap who was sleeping.
"what did you do?" I asked him. He said "I woke him up and asked if he was feeling better !!)

I had heard that one of the Nigerian assistant stewards was trying to learn english from some of the British staff on a Princess cruise years back. Everytime they would speak, he would ask what it meant. Sometimes he would just get the short and rather incomplete answer. For example they expained "Piss off" meant going to the bathroom. Well, one day a passenger asked him, can you please tell me where the nearest restroom is, and with the biggest smile he could muster the Nigerian pointed and said, "Piss off, thatta way!!!"

I have one!!!~~It involves good friends of ours who are experienced cruisers. To know that fact, makes it funnier.

From the time they entered their stateroom, she complained that the air-conditioning was not working properly. She complained to the cabin attendant...to the front desk...anyone...everyone. They sent people, but it remained too warm, in her cabin..she complained.
On the last night of the cruise, after dinner, they both went to the casino, to try their luck, one more time. She quickly tired, but he was having a great time at the craps table. So she told him that she was going to the cabin and to sleep, and please try not to wake her, when he came in. She reminded him to finish packing his bag, and put it out in the hall, for pick-up.
When he returned, to the cabin, she was indeed asleep, and he got undressed, and packed his bag in the simi darkness, with only the dim light, from the bathroom. Put the bag out.
The next morning, when they got up to prepare to disembark, they discovered, to both their horrors, he had packed the clothes she'd planned to wear that day, in his bag....gone!
He went out to find the cabin attendant, to see if they could retrieve the bag. When he found him, and told him that his wife had nothing to wear, the attendant calmly said, "Is she cool enough now?"
:) :) :)

Betty, Too funny! On our last cruise in March, Marilyn packed my Navigator tee shirt so I had to wear my pajama top instead  Thankfully, we were picked up at the terminal by her son.

My first cruise was on Royal Carribean for a 5 day cruise off the California Coast on Viking Serenade. I figured I wouldn't like it and we could at least get off the ship and rent a car to come home from San Diego. Surprised when I did like it - the room was so tiny.

We had a waiter named Cyril who I will never forget and his busboy Wing. Cyril was from one of the Carribbean Islands and Wing was from one of the Asian countries. They were as good as any you'd see on RSSC.

Anyway, it was formal night and we were at our table and all of the sudden Cyril shouted at the top of his lungs repeatedly: WHALE! WHALE! WHALE! It was a moment I will never forget. We were glad we were in his section, since we had a view out the windows.

The entire dining room of guests and servers RAN to the windows to see the Whales. No one ate - we were all staring and marveling at the whales who were going by the ship and almost seemed to be playing with us. All those lobster tails and the melted butter got cold.

I thought for certain he'd be reprimanded or something. But several years later I won some miles that let me take the weekend version the same cruise and Cyril was still there. He remembered that day well. I still think it was funny to see all these dressed up people running to the windows and leaving their lobster tails behind.

Hi Lynette,

I was just thinking about you! :)

I have a question... did you choose this thread to ask about Tonya on purpose? :3smile: She is so much I figured you did! Actually I don't think she posts, allthough I may be wrong. John, (Frequent Flyer junkie) can't you get Tonya to check in and say HI to all of us?
