I just heard from a good friend that enrichment lecturer Terry Breen will not be on MUSH but instead is getting off the Mariner and being replaced July 19th!
I'm so disappointed in hearing this! :mecry: She is absolutely the best and I was so looking forward to seeing and hearing her captivating talks again.
If you know Terry and feel the same way, please drop an email to: ostrand@regentexperience.com (Olaug Strand │Manager Enrichment & Entertainment Programs)
Let's start a "Bring Terry Back" campaign!! (I'm posting this under Regent as well as under MUSH topic)

Oh my goodness - Terry was on our Trans Canal cruis and we thought she "walked on water" so to speak - she was just amazing!!!
Yes will do Marcie!!!
Question though - is she just not on MUSH, or are they dropping her completely???? NO NO NO!!

Terry would love to stay on, it's Regent's doing. I will say that I met lots of people on our South America trip that chose that itinerary primarily BECAUSE OF TERRY. She is a Destination Specialist and the best. Her lectures in the Consteallation Theater draw larger crowds than Jean Michel Cousteau. South America and Alaska are her "babies". She is a huge draw to RSSC. There are going to be lots of us unhappy passengers when word gets out (which is my intention to spread the word)!
I don't know what her future with RSSC is, I don't think she does either.

I am VERY disappointed!!!!! She was topnotch for SA!!! I have been bragging about her to my Mush group and telling them NOT to miss her!!!!- maybe Regent didn't realize how beloved she is and how much we look forward to her lectures - PLEASE listen, Regent, she is a winner - Joanna

What a disappointment as I have heard so many wonderful things about her from past passengers who want to redo those itineraries (SA and Alaska) just to hear her again. :( Why was I under the assumption that she was just a "given" for the Alaska season???

I won't be on MUSH but I can't believe that Regent would turn a blind eye to one of their best assets. Terry was on our 2004 SA cruise. Sitting in the Observation Lounge listening to Terry's comments was one of the greatest highlights of our trip. I will never forget our late arrival in Puerto Mont (due to a storm). Terry was beside herself with enthusiasm over the beautiful sunny weather and great views we had of volcanoes rising above the town. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. She is a crowd pleaser for Regent and they need to treat her right!

I have just sent my e-mail to Regent... I was very much looking forward to Terry's lectures on 2007 SA. Who can fathom how shortsighted these kind of decisions can be?

Terry is not just a resident guest lecturer. She calls herself an "anthropologist/storyteller" I still laugh until tears stream down my face at remembering "A funny thing happened to me on the way to Machu Picchu" and also the time she had to climb the rope ladder in the Panama Canal wearing high heels and a dress for New Year's Eve. Her knowledge and love for South America was beyond any hired lecturer. Alaska was her second field of expertise. I can't imagine Regent being so short sighted as to not have her on board.

Oh, I can't believe Regent can be so stupid as to let Terry go. She was the hightlight of our SA cruise, also, and I had many conversations with her. We thought she was the best lecturer we had ever heard on our many cruises. What's happening to our favorite cruise line, anyway?

I received an updated email from my good friend and the latest is that Roger Condon (Tour Manager) is replacing Terry July 19th for the duration of the Alaska season. Many of us know Roger (he was on our entire WC) and he's a great Tour Manager but that's just it....He's a TOUR MANAGER, not a destination specialist/enrichment lecturer like Terry.
I mean no offense to Roger, but Roger should stick to what he does so well and Regent needs to allow Terry to stick to what she does so well!!
Sounds to me like they're trying to combine 2 "hats" into one.
BAD DECISION....shame on Regent! I sure hope they reconsider before MUSH!!

Regent asked me to post this message.
"On July 19, she is leaving the ship to work on an other project for us, she might be back on Sept 20 for the crossing to Tokyo and definitely for S/A. She is not being let go, she works for Regent permanently"
Please do not email anymore I think that this poor person has been overwhelmed with emails.

Thanks Ngaire! OK everyone, lets STOP our campaign. It sounds like RSSC knows how strongly we feel with the inundation of emails we sent.

Yes, poor Olaug... I received the following e-mail from him this morning: "I am sorry , but you have been misinformed regarding Terry Breen. She is scheduled to be on the South America Cruise, we never considered her not to be there. I hope you will enjoy the cruise. Olaug"

Dont know Jody and not going to ask any more questions about Terry right now. She normally just does Alaska and South American. Not sure she is ever on the South Pacific segments.

I'm sorry Terry won't be MUSHing with you all this year. :( It appears she is going to be broadening her horizons with Regent. Sounds like another expert job for her to do and for us to enjoy on a future cruise. I'll let Terry know about the write-in campaign you all did to save her for MUSH. Maybe I can find out what her new mission is going to be. ;)
