Saw on the web that during an investor conf call Norwegian announced that Regent would introduce (should have been "re-introduce") a world cruise in 2017. No further details announced. Will be interesting to learn details -- which ship, length, itinerary and cost. Though, at current price levels, don't think we will be candidates again.

Interesting. A world cruise is definitely on my bucket list, but can't do in 2017 or anytime soon.

Well, I saw on Facebook that they have announced that Navigator will be doing the World Cruise in 2017. I came here expecting to see a thread about it already.

I got an email from Regent about it yesterday . My first thought was why did the pick the Navigator? This is where the link in the email takes you:

Itinerary and pricing out on July 15 and probably booking one week later just like a regular opening.

No surprise that the Navigator is doing the world cruise. It would not be the Explorer that will fill easily. The Mariner and Voyager are preferred by most guests so they need a great itinerary for the Navigator. It makes perfect sense.

Ngaire, do you think the only 2017 NZ/OZ itinerary will be a segment of the World Cruise?

This is exciting news clap After going on two WC's, I highly recommend it for those who have it on their bucket list. It was a "once in a lifetime" experience that was so fantastic, we had to make it a "twice in a lifetime" experience.

I can see it working, maybe because we've done some lengthy cruising on the Navigator before. With fewer passengers, it may be even more intimate than ours on the Voyager...and we became a close knit bunch! The Navigator cabin size works well for a long cruise and Stars will be comparable to the Voyager lounge.

I think what will create a make it or break it experience has more to do with the destinations and the special events (ours were really over the top) not the ship itself. They will likely have the best of the best crew members on board and service will be great. Almost a certainty, you will see remarkable destinations, be very pampered and make life time friends. On such a long cruise, it's easy to "become a family" away from your family.

Like all life experiences, you need to have the right attitude, keep your glass half full, expect the unexpected and be able to go with the flow. We've probably all cruised around individuals who make you scratch your head, thinking If you want to be miserable and grumpy, why didn't you just stay home and save lots of $$ ??

No idea Marc but that is a logical direction for a world cruise to start at that time of year.

I do not have a crystal ball but I was hoping the Explorer might head in the New Zealand direction. I think it will do the South Pacific OR South America. It is ending up in LAX so one of those two choices is obvious to me.

There's a warm place in my heart for the Navigator, so I'm looking forward to seeing the itinerary. Not looking forward so much to the pricing, but am holding out hope that it won't rattle my jaws. But am doing Crystal's WC in 2016 (which is really a Pacific Rim cruise billed as a WC), and not sure that another so close in time is in the cards. But, again, I love the Nav and would love to do another lengthy cruise on her.

We're really happy to see another World Cruise and we love the Navigator. Can't wait to see the itinerary. Assuming the itinerary isn't awful, we'll be onboard.
