I need to preface this with our background... which is that we have sailed with delight and pleasure on most of the Regent ships (and no other cruise line )...but that was over 10 years ago. We since have done many land trips to Asia and Europe...and loved all of them! But, we decided the time was right to try cruising again.

Clay at B & K was above and beyond patient and informative with me....and (this was so last minute!) able to book us on Ft. Laud to Ft Laud on Silver Shadow departing March10. Seriously,,,we had less than 30 days lead time and he made it happen!! Only option was the Royal Suite (tsk tsk!) and we booked...and could not have been happier with the results!

Embarkation was seamless (ok...so it was only a 30 minute car ride to the port from our home in South Florida!) but we were welcomed appropriately with
champagne and fast check in. Our suite was perfection. Yes, the carpet and some of the furnishings are just about ready for a redo... but not enough to deter us from being thrilled with the accommodations. Really. I am seriously particular about where we live...for 2 nights or twenty...but our Royal Suite was terrific. Space was so comfortable that unfortunately I won't now be able to book smaller!! Our Butler and Suite Attendant greeted us, Butler unpacked and the tone was set for a terrific voyage!

As Clay said, the Silver Shadow is very similar to the Regent Navigator. He was of course correct! We love the small size and most of all the SERVICE. I cannot rave enough! Everyone, and I mean everyone, was gracious and lovely and clearly there to take care of us!

We had breakfast room service several mornings and it was perfect. Our Butler anticipated and did an outstanding job of anticipating and providing us with what we wanted! I know....you know the drill..We want to bring the staff home with us!!

We liked the Main Dining Room, and the food was very good...but not great. The service was wonderful! We had dinner there three nights.

La Terrazzo was wonderful for breakfast and lunch...and service was, again, outstanding. We did the Italian dinner there one night and enjoyed it.

The Pool Grill for lunch was just what you need...a few salads and burgers and again the service was over the top. The Hot Rocks Dinner was very cool. We did that for two nights and enjoyed it very much. The filet had to be the best ever!

Le Champagne was sensational! Because of the suite we booked, it was included for one night and we loved it so much that we booked it again. Food and service were outstanding.

So.....we are hooked again with cruising....loved Silversea and will book again when the opportunity works for us. Several people we talked with asked us about Regent and it's clear they are perceived as similar experiences. We'll be back...on either .....

Hey guys...good to be back!!! And yes, Ngaire...Clay is absolutely terrific, as are all of your team! BUT...not the Silver Suite (which would have been great!)...but Clay (I'm happy to say!) booked us in the Royal Suite....above and beyond!!! And as I said....it'll be difficult to sail on anything smaller in the future!!

And great to hear from you, Marcie!! Yes....maybe one day we'll do something together!! As I said, I think I'm ready to book again! Absolutely loved Silversea...and I know Regent will work for us again also....! Even when we weren't cruising I frequently checked in at LCT.... Hugs to you all!

I'm hooked again!!!

Bonnie--great to hear you had a good time on the Shadow. I agree about those amazing suites, several years ago we had a grand suite on the Shadow and it was beyond incredible, over the top! It's been awhile since we have sailed SS, but I would really like to return for another. Thanks so much for reporting in on your experience!
