OH MY!
It is -27 below zero at the Miles City Airport (MSP)
and it is -21 below here at my house.
And we have about 18 inches of snow on the ground..
Only December 6th so this is a little early for this cold weather.

I feel for you and Jan....Brrrrrrr! I can't even imagine such cold weather, not a good time for anyone who forgot to pay their heating bill.

Brrrrr is right! We have a chance of snow tomorrow morning, only the second time since we moved to Texas!

Wow Jim and hope you and Jan have a roaring fire going in the fireplace tonight! I bet it is pretty too if you aren't out in it.

Jim, I do not know how you can stand it! Makes me more than shiver, contemplating it. My son & family in OK is bad enough; couldn't take too much of that either!

Lowest I remember here was -5 many yrs ago; schools shut and lots of everything I guess, to conserve gas. Awful!

Yesterday morning Dec 23rd it was - 20 below zero at this time of day.
This morning Dec 24th it is +34 above zero.
Now that is a temperature change huh?

Still have over 2 feet of snow on the level ground.

Merry Christmas to all LCTers'! from NOT HOTlanta! Compared to JimB et. al.; no comparison! 2 days ago, 70 and pouring rain, right now 32 and dry!

Merry Christmas from NYC where 2 days ago it was 70 and it s now 17! We spend every Christmas here where my family is and it serves to remind why I moved to Los Angeles! Having said that tho, to me Christmas should be cold. Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays and safe travels in the new year

We almost had an ice Christmas. Ice storm last Friday. It did not start melting till yesterday as temps did not get above freezing. Now 80% melted but a little remaining.

SO- how is everyone faring?, especially Jim B! Can't even imagine, as we're darn cold and looking forward to much colder, but nothing like a lot of you! BRRR!

Well believe it or not it currently is +35 above.
Over 2 feet of snow on the level which is unusual for us this early.
Forecast is for a real quick moving Artic front to hit us in a couple of days. -20 below for night time temperatures predicted.
Gee. And our normal cold months are just getting here!!

It would seem that the cold had only begun on the 6th of December, because here we are a month later, and cold snaps are still sweeping through the nation. I can't say that we have seen -21 yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did this year. So far we have seen as much as -12, and it has been well over 5 years since we have had temperatures this cold in my part of the country. I am curious what the rest of the winter will bring because we are barely into the months that are typically the coldest for us. We have had more snow this year already also than we have had in more years than I can remember. I can't remember the last white Christmas we had here.

Always think of Jim B during these times - how are y'all doing?? I'm so tired of the cold ; can't even imagine yours!

Scary thing here about tomorrow's possible snow/ice is power failure; lived through it several times, more than a week at a time, but that was 40+ yrs ago, when I was a lot younger and could cope well even with very small children.

Let us know how you are, as well as all the LCTers in the frigid areas!!

It's -14 outside now and that is WITHOUT wind chill! Leaving the car home in the heated garage and Doug will drive me to work door to door.

Now that's why Doug is a true gentleman.....a keeper for sure!

50 mph gusts of wind and temperature dropped to +3
Right now +2.
Got lucky that we did not get the snow and blizzard conditions that North Dakota and Minnesota got. Terrible.
Really feel for you in the Southeast. This has got to be terrible
for you when you are not use to it.

It even got cold in Florida - 40s & 50s, so we're spending a week in St. Thomas before our Windstar cruise from St Maarten.

Now that sounds like a grand idea!!
