When I click on "active topics" the list of threads comes up but then when I click on SOME threads (not all of them) they won't come up. (e.g. The Grand Prix roll call or Taj Mahal Excursion threads) On the other hand if I go to the main page and then go to the Topics and then click on the same thread it will come up. I know it is not that big of a deal but I have sure gotten used to using the Active Topics to see what is new.
Is anyone else having problems like this?

I wonder if some sort of "fix" might be necessary?
I was just trying to open my private messages and it won't open them. The list of PMs comes up but it won't open any of them so I can read them.

Arlene, I think it's a browser issue, at least that is Joanna's problem. What browser do you use?

I don't think you need to use IE, I was just hoping you weren't using the AOL browser that is giving Joanna problems.

Karen,
I have a similar problem when I use Firefox. There is no problem when I use IE or when I use Safari on my IPad.

Dave, how odd, I use Firefox with no problem. Arlene uses Safari and has a problem and you don't, there doesn't seem to be a pattern! Arlene, I will ask if the problem is still being worked on.

I also have problems with Active Posts and Topics. I can't always get into a post that interests me. I have to go back to the main menu and enter that way. I use safari via iPad or MacBook. I always get in via main menu. Exactly same issue as Arlene.

Is is just Joanna and Arlene that can't read their private messages?

I emailed James (developer of the new LCT) last night about these issues and he suggested some things that I could try in the control panel, which I did this morning. Not yet sure if this helped the issues or not, but it was worth a try.
James emailed me back later on today with this response in simple terms:
If it's an issue with the forum software it should really effect everyone... There are a lot of variables these days on everyones individual computers to take into account that can really mess things up such as:
A. Virus Scanners can, at times, block certain cookies that can block particular functions from working.
B. Firewalls can simply block cookies that are necessary for a website to function correctly or even entire connections to sites.
With both A and B above, most users have a "security" software and they are not really aware of all the things that it can block. We all want all the protection that we can get from virus attacks and cookies that can track your activity. However some cookies make things work correctly.
For the users having issues he suggested they try a separate browser to see if it fixes the issue, if not ask them to disable any firewalls or virus scanners temporarily to see if it eases the issue so that we can attempt to pinpoint the problem."

I also have the same problems as Arlene in her first post.
Strangely this has only started to happen recently. I have an iMac and a Mac Air, use safair, it happens on both of them.
When I go into Recent Posts the first click on a post opens up immediately, then when I click on another post, it sticks. If I go out of Recent Posts and then back in again, when I click on the second post that wouldn't open, this time it does and visa versa with the first one.
This also happens on the Forum List page. There seems to be no consistency with when they open or not. I can always get into what I want to read but have to do it in another way.
This doesn't really worry me but just thought I'd mention it as others have had similar problems.

Ken, sorry a late reply, we have been out of town.
Arlene still has problem with Active Topics. There are many that won't open; however, if she goes from main page, she has no problems.
When you recommended separate browser; did you mean a different browser (e.g. firefox) or a separate window in safari?
She has standard Mac installation so there are no special anti viruus or firewalls. More a nuisance that a critical issue as she can still access from main page.
