Found a web site www.wspearl.com which I think will give those of us who are new to the Pearl Market a sense of what is available and prices. I'm assuming we wouldn't want to pay more and would like to pay less. There is a poster on Trip advisor who gave a detailed report on how to haggle at the Pearl Market saying the 50% rule is not what you are looking for, much less. It was interesting reading. I don't know if I can bargain that well. I have a tendency to fall for a sob story. Maybe not as easily in China as one of the poorer countries.
I was on a cruise recently and someone - an Australian - mentioned the name of a type of pearl or a company which sells excellent pearls in Australia beginning with the letter P.
Unfortunately I didn't write it done at the time and can't seem to come up with anything via Google. Can any one help?
Peggy, from what I am hearing about prices in Australia these days (since I am going there in Feb) I don't know that I want to buy anything there other than food and drink until I get on the ship!
As usual, our lct friends Frank and Wendy come to the rescue about info requested. Sorry F&W if I have offended about the price thing in Australia!
