I sure hope this all gets sorted out! Did this cruise in 2004, and it was wonderful. I think the tides were right for us to get in and out for 2 nice days in Bordeaux. Back in the days of excursions not included. We had a private guide arranged, but I got sick, others had a wonderful time. This is one great itinerary, for sure!

Peggy, we're signed up for both now that San Sebastian doesn't conflict. It may be a long day, but it seems to give plenty of time for lunch. Both are "free." I just added San Sebastian online without a problem. The big headache seemed to be Bordeaux, for which you need a person to fix things.

I do think that it is not good that Regent didn't have a Bordeaux excursion on the second day given our limited times there. But I guess we'll use the shuttle and go from there. I also don't think it should be difficult for Regent to electronically notify us when they change our excursions.

Eugene,

There are three excursions in the morning of the second day in Bordeaux (at least as of now). We're booked in the St Emilion one.

I could swear the St. Emilion Exploration was not there yesterday, but maybe I'm crazy.

Hello WINEoS!

Just curious, how are you getting to Southampton on 8/19? We'll be in London for 3 days before the cruise and are thinking of taking the train that morning( Waterloo station to Southampton). There are two possibilities I'm looking at: either arriving at 11:12 AM or 1:15 PM. I would rather take the earlier train but don't know if getting to the ship before noon would be too early. Anybody familiar with embarkation at Southampton?

Well, had to make an executive decision on the train, so we decided to take the one that gets to Southampton around 11:15AM. It'll probably be the only bargain we'll find on this trip. We bought the train tickets through megatrain.com and paid the whopping amount of 1 pound per person!

Hmm, looks like WINES is oversold, but the "stay home now and go later" offer isn't that great, so we'll stick with it and go now. Hope nobody else cancels either -- this is already a small group. We leave for London on Sunday--hope they've quit rioting by then.

Yes, we got it too. We dont have the flexibility to change but even if we did, the offer was very underwhelming. We leave Monday!

Offer not good enough to change our minds. Anyway we leave for England tomorrow. Bags are packed and we're ready. Look forward to seeing everyone on Friday week.

We are still in, see y'all on the ship. I do hope a few people take the offer as we have a guarantee cabin.

Carolyn, somebody will probably take it, but I'm guessing they don't need too many rooms or they'd have made a much better offer.

We just checked in online for our flights tomorrow, so in less than 24 hours we will be on our way to London. We fly from Austin to Detroit then on to Heathrow both on Delta. Have never flown to Europe via Detroit before. See all you WINEo's on the ship on Friday.

Our flight is this evening--we'll be leaving for the airport in a couple hours. We got lucky with a direct flight from DFW to Heathrow and our friends are picking us up when we get there. The only thing better would be if we could transport ourselves over there ala Star Trek. Looking forward to getting on the ship!!!
