The link below will take you to the Kangaroo Blog for our trip (Kangaroo is the nickname given to the cruise). Scroll to the bottom of the first page and click on Go to Archive. That will bring up a list for each day of the trip. At the same time, the Photos listed above are for the photos corresponding to each day's entry. They can be looked at independently. I suggest looking at them as a Slideshow because they will be larger. Since we had hundreds of photos of Sydney from our first trip here, the photos begin with our day in the Blue Mountains. I know of no way to reverse the order of the entries. Therefore, since I've already set up the blog for the complete trip, one needs to start at the bottom for the beginning entries. Please let me know if you encounter difficulties. Eugene\'s KANGAROO Blog . -------------- Eugene

i am loving your blog!! Wow, food is much more expensive than when we were there. I'm with you... a $300 dinner before joining the voyager.....not my cup of tea either. Enjoy that lovely trip.

Thanks. Will try to keep things fairly up-to-date, given the number of sea days. We're onboard and unpacked. Waiting for the muster drill in about an hour. Weather has gotten quite nice. It was showering this AM.

It's a little after 5 AM and the signal and/or bandwith finally let me publish the update to my Blog.
It is now up to our day in Brisbane and trip to Mt.Tamborine. I think there are some fairly neat photos in the corresponding section.
Our drawing was last night and because of the length of the cruise and number of people, 16 names were drawn. We were drawn near the end.
We arrive in Townsville around 10 AM, I think.
Going to try to get a little more sleep. I sure hope I don't have to do this each time I want to "publish."

We're still on the move, and passages said we will arrive at 10 AM and dock in Berth #9. The excursions leave between noon at 1 PM, and I'm wondering what we'll do for lunch -- not that we need more food.

Blog updated through great day in Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. Did this at 4AM so I could publish it. I hope this doesn't continue. Remember to view photos as Slideshow.
Gotta get more sleep.

Eugene, VERY much enjoying your blog, including GBR! But, please tell me why I've encountered some past and future entries in Latin (not that I tried to translate - too many years ago!) Or is it my computer?
Very best wishes for a fabulous cruise!

I have set up shells for the complete trip. Those are the shells that Apple has in its template. As I write up a port, I just type it over the specific page that I've previously set up.
As I've mentioned before, I know of no way to reverse the order so that the chronology is more logical. I will ask Apple when I'm home.

I'm happy to report that I was able to update and "publish" our blog through our visit yesterday to Thursday Island, and it's not the middle of the night. It's only 10 PM our time. It was very strange when we set our clocks back 1/2 hour last night. I didn't know that was ever done.
We are now heading for Darwin, where we are now supposed to arrive at 11AM because of the delay in leaving Thursday Island, while a wire on one of the lifeboats was repaired. We had a very good special-event dinner (with special wines) tonight for the Gold, Plat., and Titanium cruisers, which I will report on in some detail in the blog when I next update it after our day in Darwin. It's time to say "bonne nuit."

Been up since 5:30 AM and the Internet has been speedy so I was able to add the write-up for yesterday, our sea day en route to Darwin. It was a bit "bumpy" during the night. That may be because we had some notable seas and we are further forward than we've ever been. It's worth it, though. We are enjoying the configuration of the PH on the Voyager even though it is only marginally larger than the regular suites.
The weather looks pretty good at the moment, though we still have several hours until we reach Darwin. Right now we are passing very large lush green islands seem uninhabited. I think I'll get out the camera.
Until next time ...

Internet has been co-operating today, so I was able to update the Blog through our stop in Darwin yesterday. Photos include Gail wearing a $167,000 strand of Paspaley Pearls. (We were tempted, but alas we didn't purchase them, NOT.) Today and tomorrow are sea days, and we arrive in Bali on Monday.
There was an interesting lecture on Bali this morning, and I think they'll be another one tomorrow. Most of us can't wait to see the Island. It's been about 20 years since I was there.

Love your blog Eugene. I love how the Paspaley Pearl store gave Gail & Sheila a brochure and put it in one of their bags so they walked down the street carrying this, cute way to fool everyone!

Was up bright and early as usual so I could update the Blog through our day in Bali. We are on our way to Sandakan, Malaysia. We left Bali late because we were awaiting newly arriving passengers. This means that it has reduced our “window of opportunity†to enter the bay protection Sandakan because of the tides. Furthermore, the winds and currents have been against us. We’re keeping our fingers crossed and we’ll see what the captain says when he next updates –- usually around noon.
The “Truck Stop†dinner was last night, but the menu was so good in Compass Rose, that we decided to forego the 50’s style comfort-food at the Truck Stop. We had a fantastic “French†meal (rack of lamb). I won't say how many chops Ngaire had, but it was in the double digits.
Then to top it off, the Platters' first performance following dinner was absolutely terrific. I think it was the best act I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship. Most were dancing near the stage or in the aisles toward the end of the sow. And, they were a last-minute substitution (I think for Rita Moreno, whose husband passed very recently).
It's a bright, sunny sea day today. We passed the equator almost two hours ago, and there will be a special event before dinner. There is also going to be traditional dancing by some of the Balinese crew members before the equator event. A lot in store today over and above the usual card games and trivia.

I was finally able to "publish" an update to the Blog. I guess the Internet was just too busy yesterday to allow sufficient bandwidth. I did it at 5 AM this morning, and it too no time at all. As you probably read in the Seamail, unfortunately, we had to skip Sandakan, Malaysia because of our late departure from Bali and the small window of opportunity to enter the protected bay there due to the tides. On the plus side, we have an overnight in Manila.
We are just arriving in Manila (7AM March 11th). It is expected to take most of the morning to clear customs here -- there is even a full body scan that I think will be set up in the Constellation Theater on board. One reason it will take so long to clear customs is because there are so many Filipino crew. Of course, they are undoubtedly very happy about the additional day here.
The Blog update contains some photos en route to Manila that I took at the Balinese dance presentation on board by crew from Bali. It also has a few pictures of the crossing-the-equator ceremony. It's supposed to be about 90 here today.
We had a great evening last night with a wonder pre-dinner show featuring a lyric soprano, Stephanie Baldwin (the General Manager's wife), a fun dinner with Marcie and Tom in Prime 7 (it was great to get to know them a little better), and the Platters second show (lots of dancing and perhaps some good photos--Ken was taking a number as was I, but on Gail's new small camera and I really didn't know what I was doing--better make excuses now before you all see Ken's).
Another update when we're on our way to Taipei.

I've just updated the blog through our two-day stay in Manila and yesterday's sea day (March 13). We've just arrived in Keelung (for Taipei). We're about 5 hours late in arriving because of our late departure from Manila due to refueling delays blamed on the Tsunami warnings, etc. This means that the activities planned for this afternoon were canceled. I think that there is still one night excursion tonight. Immigration here requires that each of us to get off the ship with our papers so that needs to take place before dinner. There is a Taiwanese acrobatic dance show onboard tonight.
Tomorrow Gail and I are taking an all-day tour. The weather at the moment is cooler than we've thus far experienced, but pleasant--probably close to 70 as the sun goes down. However, we're expecting a 10-degree drop with rain tomorrow, so that doesn't sound too great.

I was finally able to update the blog through Taiwan. Yesterday, I was on an 8-hour excursion to Seoul. It was fairly good, but our guide was terrible. Also, the weather was much nicer than forecast -- sunny and in the 50's. Gail had enough long bus rides, so she stayed on the ship.
Today is packing day as we arrive in Beijing tomorrow morning. Activities will be jam packed in Beijing, so I doubt I'll be able to update again. Regent changed our routing back to the States, and we are no longer flying through Tokyo. Frankly, I don't know whether this would have all been done automatically or because I nudged them, but we are pleased by the result.
Better fold some clothes.

Eugene, So happy to hear you were able to visit the National Museum in Taipei; my most vivid and at this point, only memory of visit there in 1970 - spectacular! Thanks for all the hard work on the blog and look forward to the rest. Enjoy Beijing and safe travels home!
