Marcie, I agree. However, with all ships disembarking on either 27 or 28 December, I wonder if what was meant by the 28 December date was that all cruises THROUGH 28 Dec would be on record that is to be sent. If that is the case, the letters can still be days or weeks away.

I too agree with Marcie, but I also think that with 67 full world cruisers who are now on the Dec. 27th Yoyager, you would think that the SSS tier letter would have gone out before they embarked so they would know what their situation was.

Good Point!

I've received several emails from non-LCT friends who are very disappointed that any tier perks don't go into affect until April. It does seem MORE THAN COINCIDENTAL that April happens to be AFTER both the WC and the Circle SA trip. The people I've heard from are big time RSSC cruisers and would all qualify for things like the free internet and free laundry service.

One friend said that Mark Conroy specifically told him on board they would go into affect in 2006 (implying the beginning of the year)....with that said Dec. 31, 2006 would qualify!

I would hope our opinions on such matters as all inclusive liquor would be considered. However, given that only Platinum members are given complimentary liquor, it doesn't look promising. Marilyn

Well, I'm content with the Silver benefits, probably never be Gold. Although I have never yet received the infamous "Inspirations" magazine! The free internet is nice, and the pressing for formal and informal nights will also be nice. I wonder how they will get all that pressing done on those nights??

It doesn't mention (unless I missed it) when the clock starts? Hopefully its cumulative and all previous nights count.

Sorry, but in very tiny print at the bottom of the page itemizing the different levels it states that benefits will be applicaable for cruises departing after April 1, 2006. Marilyn

Yes, I know the tier perks don't begin until April but do the nights cruised PRIOR to April count OR do the nights begin to accumulate for sailings after April 1?

Marcie, I never considered that the nights would start to accumulate after April 1. Given that they referred to a form for corrections that will be included in our letter that is coming, I am assuming that past nights will be included. Marilyn

Well, let me tell you how excited I am (not) about that art auction benefit. I keep trying to decide whether we'll squeak by into Gold or if we'll stay at Silver.

I am sure that the nights cruised prior to April will count. If not, why would they tell us that the letter will include the nights we have cruised? Today's mail arrived, but still no SSS letter.

Didn't someone say everyone who has cruised in the past 5 years is getting a letter, so past cruises must count. And Pam, I'm with you on the art auction thing. Nothing to make me rush out to book an additional 30 nights to get that perk!
Looks like I will be silver for many years to come and will be pleased with whatever they have given that level.

I wonder what this is:

"Invitation to participate in the Seven Seas Society Advisory Board"

Don't you imagine that is like that form some people received last year asking to choose their favorite WC itinerary for 2007?
BTW - they didn't use of the 4 listed in that letter. Seemed to combine different parts of several.

My mail just ran, without anything from RSSC. Tomorrow is the last day I'll get mail until we get back on the 17th, so hopefully there will be internet access on Navigator; y'all will have to keep posting to keep me caught up.

Am I really the only one so far to have received the letter? I want to know if letters are going to each person individually or one letter per couple. Each person pays to cruise, seems that each person should accumulate nights.

I received my letter today. Am sure everyone will be getting theirs soon.

They have enclosed a postage-free form if your nights are not correct. Mine were down to each port and day.

They will be mailing the actual membership kit later in the month.

My husband got his letter today. He almost threw it into the garbage, I had to stop him! He doesn't follow all this stuff like I do :) . "His" nights were correct. They included our 3 cruises, the first one was in 2000.

Maria, is it now individual nights per person, not combined as a couple?

I think the letters are only going to one person per couple. That's what we are seeing so far where only husbands are getting letters. And in our case, only me, not my SO.

Marcie,

Yes, the nights are not combined . We have cruised 31 days and that's what's listed in the statement. It doesn't show as 62 days.

And why would they only send it to the husband? In my case they don't even know for a fact he's my husband since I use my maiden name.

That's always annoyed me. All our invoices come in David's name, and I'm sure if we ever get this famous letter it will be addressed to him as well. He would not have set foot on any of these ships if I hadn't planned them (and paid for them too.) Strangely anachronistic.

I just don't get it. OK, it's not like the usual airline frequent traveler awards programs. But it's not quite like the hotel awards programs either. On airlines, each person pays airfare and gets their points individually. Hotels --- you pay for 1 room and 1 person gets the points. But, with the cruise, you're not paying for one cabin. Both passengers in the cabin are paying the cruise fares. How can they give credit for the nights to only one person?!

Kim,

I'm hoping that it's not their intention and that for whatever reason I haven't received my letter yet. If it's not forthcoming I will contact them and request it. Although, the "perks" are so meager it might not be worth my time to do the follow-up.

We recieved our letter today and the # of nights was correct. As usual with everything from RSSC, they sent it to Lynn, even though I make all the reservations and pay all the bills. Guess they like her! So do I!

Wendy,
well said.............I hate that. David asks me where we are going somewhere close to when the docs arrive, (not really.......but i do all the planning). They address every letter to him, i really don't care, but i mean really..........
