It has two parts: part 1 is 7 nights from Athens to Istanbul on Navigator then part 2 is 7 night Baltics on Voyager. Those doing both parts will fly between Istanbul and Stockholm making it into a 14 night trip.

Gail and I are signed up for the Baltics portion.

He is learning Greek, so that could be exciting.

I wonder if we can do a Greek version of pooch!

He could do the running commentary in Greek of which dogs are inside the kennel and the type of meat they are currently eating. No one would know what he is saying but it could be fun!!!

"Skeelos" (sp) is the Greek word for dog, so maybe he is up for the challenge.

He can also have different color of dogs. "Kittreenos skeelos" (sp). Everyone can guess what color of dog.

We are still booked on both segments; looks like we will plan on going now that Regent has lowered the price. I just have to make sure I can get the time off work.

Ngaire, we will probably have to coordinate Stelios' time for our arrivals into Athens. :D We won't be doing a pre-cruise as we did Athens this year.

Since flights are booked I am officially posting that Jerel & I will be on Part 1 of Sea2Sea. We arrive in Athens on the 12th and will be leaving Istanbul on the 23rd.

Susan, have you & Russel booked flights yet?

I found out on Sunday that AA has discontinued their BOS-LHR day flight on Tuesdays for the summer. They booked us BOS-JFK-LHR on 8/11 and then LHR-ATH on 8/12. Of course, airfares had dropped a bit since January when I purchased the tickets, so this was a great opportunity to get a refund & save some money. We are now leaving BOS the evening of 8/10 and will arrive in Athens around 5:30 pm on 8/11, so we'll have 2 full days there.

Even better, I was able to get us business class on the LHR-ATH, IST-LHR flights on BA, and still saved $800 from the original booking!

Yes, We leave DAllas on Aug. 10 at 5:30 PM on BA, fly to Heathrow and then on to Athens. We arrive in athens on August 11 at 5:35 PM.

We have a guide for the two days before we board. One day in Athens and one day around Athens.

Lets get together, I would love to catch up and meet you husband. Email me if you want.

We are leaving for NYC (ou daughters graduation present) Friday and will be gone until Wednesday.

Is anyone staying on in Stockholm post-cruise? If yes, which hotels are you considering? We are trying to decide whether to stay in Stockholm for a few days (our first visit) or head to London to meet friends.

We are spending 2 nights at the Sheraton before traveling on to Moscow for 3 days. Got a great rate on Priceline.

We're also staying 2 nights at the Sheraton, and we got a great rate on hotels.com, but I think it subsequently went up, and now I no longer see it listed on the hotels.com Web site for those dates.

Alas, we are flying straight home, :( it is just a bit over a two hour flight. ;)

Mitch, we will be very interested on hearing about your trip to Moscow. We plan on heading there for a long weekend next year.

I think the Sheraton is listed on Priceline at $167 a night. Marc-Bert and I are looking forward to Moscow. We are staying at the Savoy which is just across from Red Square. Unfortunately, Moscow is the 2nd most expensive city in the world right behind London, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity. It goes back 2 generations, but my grandparents on both sides were originally from the old Soviet Union.

Mitch, Eugene: Thanks very much for the info about the Sheraton. It's great that you included the booking site you used. Very helpful.

Just got a couple of strong recommendations for the Nordic Sea Hotel. Our friend lists the positives as: Swedish-owned, eco-friendly, free Internet access and buffet breakfast, good location adjacent to Central Station.

Will look into both properties. Thanks again!

Mitch, how wonderful that you'll have the opportunity to explore your heritage in Moscow. That connection should make the visit quite meaningful as well as exciting.

Eileen, I don't think we were as organized pre 2008 so there might not be a master list. Maybe we can get Joanna to take a picture of her fridge with all the pins!

Do they cut the pin in half for those of us who are doing only one of the cruises? :)
