We are on the same plane as the Rodman's and arriving early morning. I am sure with us all being at the same hotel a "natural" meeting will evolve.
I have not done ANY reserach either but have been to Paris multiple times and decided I would "let the flow take me". Just look forward to some chilling out time down time.
My sister and her husband from SFO will be there too and as terrible as it may sound we have probably only seen each other about five times for short visits in the last 10 years. Weddings and quick "going through Dallas" one night visits. I have seen my siblings in New Zealand more, the ships call into Auckland.
I am packed, two crammed days at work and then sitting back in the plane on Wednesday ready for a new adventure.
Marc and Arlene I packed the pooch pad and cards, LCT rules the AFT lounge.

Have a great time everyone. We're in Auckland, preparing to get back on the Mariner tomorrow to head back to LA. I'm guessing the weather will be better in Tahiti than in Paris--but, maybe not... :cool:

Well we are packed.....like you Jim, i can't believe i am a day early. full day at work tomarow....then the fun begins. Marc- thanks for the duty free idea!!! I just told David and he said, now that man is thinking! We will do it...... do you want something????

we are in very early and planning to do museums with our relatives (friends really). I don't think i need to tell you there is a decent chance of running into us in the hotel bar. not at noon though!!!

On Amalyra the Aft lounge was just a meeting place with no bar/bartender - I would expect that its the same on Amacello. They asked for passport but if you ask to use another ID, it might be accepted especially since the trip is all in the EU - don't really know though.

Our plan is to try and get out of here at 1:30 pm
today and get there before dark.
Our BIL to SLC flight tomorrow is 11:40 am
so get to sleep in a little.
Looks like that may be our only chance the whole trip. Did you see most of our excursions are at 8:00 am !! :ohmy: :ohmy:

We're in Brussels and just had dinner with Marc & Arlene in the Grand Place. The square was all lit up with a light show on one of the buildings timed to music. All the buildings in the square are from the 1600s so it was quite a sight. We had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing M & A in Trier. We join the rest of the Paris group tomorrow in Paris, however, we're already on the time zone so we're ready to go.

We are in the Admirals Club waiting to board our flight to Paris. Really looking forward to this trip and seeing everyone. Got some warm clothes packed and some NOT so warm clothes as well. Never forget Antarctica where the ships over compensate for the cold outside and everyone was buying the gift shop out of short sleeve tee-shirts.
Christmas lights are waiting for us in Paris. See everyone very soon.

Reading this thread about all you lucky people going to Paris at Christmastime with all the beautifully decorated markets and lights everywhere at night was just too much for me. We dug into our ff miles and are leaving tomorrow for a long weekend. Looking forward to finally meeting Ngaire and Ken as well as this great sounding group of LCTers. See you Saturday!

For all PARISites in Paris: Protests this Saturday at 1400; here are the particulars: Summary
Several protests will take place in Paris Dec. 5 beginning at 1400, the largest being a demonstration against the government of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Protesters are demanding the Italian leader's resignation over alleged curtailment of freedom of speech.
Additionally, four other smaller, but unrelated events will take place in central Paris at the same time. Violence or any significant disruptions are unlikely at any of the events with the exception of the rally at Place Stalingrad, where up to a few thousand demonstrators could participate and cause localized traffic disruptions. Several hundred participants are expected at the remaining three.
Central Paris: Anti-Berlusconi protest
Place Stalingrad: Rally against unemployment
Place du Chatelet: Pro-cycle festival
Place de la Sorbonne: "Silence TV" gathering
Place de l'Opera: Children's rights rally
Advice
Avoid the vicinity of all events; road closures and vehicular traffic disruptions likely. Avoid the Place Stalingrad metro station before 1400. Allow additional time to reach destinations in central Paris.

Oh, goodness, sounds like the 60's in the U.S., not to minimalize any of them! In case anyone is wondering why you haven't heard from the lct crowd, an internet connection at the Crown Plaza is 18 Euros per day! And we get all this free at chain hotels in the US? But we didn't used to, remember?
I haven't seen soul other than Cindy and Dave when I first arrived at about noon. Went straight to bed after the all-night flight and slept until my daughter arrived to meet me for the weekend at about 8 p.m.! We went out for dinner, no one around when we got back. Now I am up, and no one to play with. We will set out in the morning on our own, as we don't have the land portion of the cruise. Denise's deal with Crown Plaza was too good! Been here many times, so will strike out on our own. It will be nice to see lct faces tomorrow!
