We are planning to stay in "the area" for one day after we debark in Monte Carlo. I am partial to Hilton properties as I can use points and still get all the bennies. Unfortunately, the only Hilton in the area is in Cannes which is 38 miles from Monaco.
A few questions:
When debarking in Monte Carlo, is there somewhere that we can stash our luggage for the day; spend the day touring Monaco; and then take the train/bus/transfer to Cannes in the evening?
Does Regent usually have some form of hospitality location with baggage storage and transfers to Nice or Cannes?
Are there accomodations at reasonable cost in Monaco? How about Nice?
What is the most cost effective way to get to Nice airport whether staying in Monaco, Nice, or Cannes?
If we are going to end up paying a fortune for local transportation and portage, it may end up easier to just stay in Monaco.
Thanks, Marc

Marc, do you have any Marriott points or can you convert some AX Membership rewards? We're staying at the Marriott La Porte de Monaco when we're there pre-Cross. The hotel is actually over the border from Monaco in Cap d'Ail (just north of Monaco city center. The hotel has a free shuttle to the port, casino, and other sights in the area--but it's also walking distance to most places. And if you're paying, the rates aren't bad--our rate in Nov. is $138 Euros.

Hi Marc - We just returned from the Med and spent 2 nights pre cruise in Nice. I hadn't been in this area in 20yrs and loved it. Nice is wonderful - the fun Flower Market Area- lots of cute restaurants and a great hotel with a fabulous view. I'd want to spend more time around here next venture. Hotel La Perouse. Visted the hill villages by car and the coast drive rivals the Amalfi. The yachts in Antibes were unbelievable. It's great and I would choose Nice over Monte Carlo. We did have a driver and that helped.

We have decided to spend our two night post-cruise in Nice and rent a car. Anyone else planning a post-cruise? We still can't decide on a hotel but are leaning towards staying at a hotel on or near the Promenade; any recommendations?

We have a one night post in Nice thru RSSC, they are doing ours and the Croxall's air - Croxall's got lucky and got a comp overnight, but they put us in the same hotel for an extremely reasonable rate. However, Tom has been trying to get a hotel and is running up against some problems with availability. We are at the Radisson SAS, which is the hotel they use for forced overnights the Air concierge told me.
