I just received back a message from Gabe at Ransom winery, we are confirmed. I asked about payment and this was his reply:

"Option three will be fine for the 2nd December for 22 people.

It is ok for everybody to pay on their own however with 22 people it would be a lot easier if the cash for the food and tasting was accumulated by somebody such as yourself beforehand (perhaps on the bus) and paid as one. After the tasting people are then free to purchase what they would like or not. "

The cost of the tasting and lunch is $16NZD per person so if someone from each van could collect the money on the way to the winery, that would be great!

Thanks, Karen. I can see that we need to call our bank back and order mor NZ $$$. I don't think we have enough. I know we could use an ATM but we don't know where our card is, never use it. We are such dinosaurs!

Donna, you can get them at ATM in the Auckland airport. You don't even need to get them ahead of time.

Yes, I can collect for van 1 but I think you will need NZ dollars for both Ransom and Sheepworld? Or maybe you can use your CC at Sheepworld.
Jim, you can just exchange some US dollars at Sky City hotel for NZD.

Who would like to collect for van 2?

26.4405 NZD
United States Dollars
1 USD = 1.32202 NZD

Same here, Karen's right. As of this second, 1 USD equals 1.32165 NZD. We've all been hit hard with the dollar decline.

Sweet Michele has offered to collect the Ransom money (that sounds really funny!) for Van 2 and I will be collecting the money for Van #1
If everyone makes sure that they have $16pp NZD, that would be great. If you are running low on NZDs, you can use your ATM or exchange at the hotel.

Just a thought re NZ dollars......
There are 2 further ports where they can be used,Bay of Islands and Rarotonga, not that you will need much there.

Appreciate it, Karen. I are able to see that we have to call each of our bank again and get mor NZ $$$. I don't believe we have enough. I know we're able to use the ATM nevertheless we are not aware of where each of our card is actually, never utilize it. We tend to be such dinosaurs!
