Glad you all had a great time in a very special place. When we went, the balloons were cancelled due to weather. The next morning we watched while at breakfast and saw Leslie & Brad up in the air!

Ngaire, your photos bring back great memories from our trip to Cappadocia this spring. We really loved Goreme, the cave churches and the underground city. I thought the food was amazing, but I love Middle Eastern food. Actually, it is my second favorite (with Italian being first). I would be happy eating Turkish food every day.

Love the Cappadocia photos - we'd enjoy going back there someday. Your balloon looked much more "upscale" than the one we took - we were squeezed into it with a huge non-English speaking group, but it was spectacular nonetheless. And Doug, what good eyes you have to have spotted us up in that balloon!

Rachel, we really loved the food too. Our guide, who coincidentally we saw in Istanbul leading a Regent tour, really picked out some terrific local choices.

We had 12 in the balloon but it was still spacious enough and the others were all English speaking, Australians and American. It was Kapadokya Balloons and from what I learned there is a huge difference between the companies. There was a bright blue balloon that was also doing the extra things we were doing so many did not come down low. I have not researched the balloon companies but would not hesitate to use this company again. We may also have lucked out with a GREAT pilot and this luck of the draw.

I am definitely planning on doing a post cruise trip from the July 2012 Black Sea cruise and with those interested and if the numbers work out okay we will do our own balloon and see if we can get this pilot again.

Well we had an amazing trip and are so glad we did the two segments. Got home Friday night totally exhausted and it has taken me all weekend to recover, I think I was in bed Friday night before 8:30, in fact it was still light outside, thats a first!

So now we are packing for our beach trip with the girls and their families next week. We leave on Friday to go to Richmond and then on Saturday we will drive with Laura and family to the Hilton Riverfront in Wilmington NC, then Sunday over to Bald Head Island for the week with both girls and families. Will miss Chris and his family, but it was not to be this year with their girls schedules.

Anyway, loved seeing everyone and now looking forward to CANADA.

LOL Diane when we boarded the ship on June 7, the 29th seemed forever away and the next thing we knew it was the 17th and the CLEO's were getting on and then so fast it was over.

Sorry about the delay - I'm just getting around to working on our pictures - Ngaire wanted me to post the pictures that Mark took of the "Elvis Gas Station in Jerusalem" - apparently Elvis is alive and well in Jerusalem - Thank you to Karen for helping with this!!!

That is so neat we did not see that. We stopped at a couple of stations for bathroom breaks but went to the back side of building where there were restrooms. Probably same place we just did not see the front of the building that was a hoot!

Thanks for posting those.

I thought I would post the link to the Cappadocia post cruise package that we are offering at the end of COSSACK.

Looking forward to going back and showing this wonderful area to others.

Since I had the whole package figured out I also got K&D to arrange this with the local tour operator for any BK clients who may want to do this trip on a different date. We got pricing for two, four and six people. Two is pretty expensive but would be great with a private guide from pick up at the ship to final transfer to the airport. This would be booked DIRECT with Ker & Downey.
