Betty, Barry had that political discussion on PANDA. He must like moderating, and most people on Regent are probably not nuts enough to be argumentative on a ship (especially about politics, religion or money), and people who attend are there for the interesting dialogue on a day where nothing else much is going on!

Where does the time go?? I'm in a gallop all the time, it seems, & desparately need to get some good Zzzzzz's! LCT was well represented today at dance class. (Auditions will soon begin for the "Dancing With The Stars" Mariner contest...) Love having the laptop on the balcony - speed is very good from the 9th deck HS. Latitude's Indian menu was very good last night. Menu will change weekly. Oops, we're late for the Captain's Welcome.

Gee, it is wonderful that everyone is being so good at posting. It sounds like much merriment going on.
Joanna, sorry about the TAB, I had all that I could consume on the Voyager. I understand that Tab energy is horrid! Too bad, they couldn't have sent it over from my trip!
Keep having fun everyone

I am headed to cabin it is after 10 PM and I guess people are at show or in OB Lounge - my cold is better - Tony sat on our balcony for 4 hrs in the HOT sun - he doesn't know how to spell moderation ...he is "burned" but we have dealt with this issue living in Florida - so he had the sunburn chills at dinner and had to retire early - played pooch today FUN, read, went to pool but it was windy, big b'fast, no lunch too full, great day did NOTHING and loved it - Jim and Jan just stopped by computer alley - Jan had drop dead sexy one shoulder dress on- we commented not many pixs so far - told them let's take the pixs NOW before we get chubby and look very tired from partying - more tomorrow - Joanna

Well I have not been posting so glad others have been keeping you all informed. Somehow it has been so darn busy I have not had a moment to do anything.

Not even been dancing yet but maybe tomorrow. We have dinner tomorrow with the M&M's (Matassa's and MOndae's) and they are some of our dancing buddies so this may lead to the Stars night club.

They have a great trio in the Observation Lounge that do Beatles and Elvis and we spend the night up there listening to them. Really one of the best lounge entertainer acts I have seen.

I am now somewhat organized so looking forward to a more relaxing day tomorrow. Have taught a few more players pooch and look forward to playing tomorrow.

So happy to be aboard, food has been great and had some wonderful times with old and new friends.

Be back later.

All this LAMB mail is just great. Thanks for spending the time to write about all the fun adventures you all are having aboard the Mariner.

Joanna, thanks for adding the time to your post. It is nice to know the time difference. Glad your cold is getting under control. Poor Tony and his sunburn! :(

Work on posting pix, please. We need visuals!!!!!

Karen, check with Theresa in the computer room about getting your photo scanned. There is a scanner somewhere on the ship because she scanned in our Great Wall picture from PANDA. Theresa knows all about LCT, so I'm sure she'll do it if she can. (Hopefully Theresa is still on the ship!). It sounds like you guys are having a great time--keep sending the email!

Ngaire - I think thats what happened with the CROSS'ers, we loved listening to Frankie so much we just congregated up there both before and after dinner. Sometimes they had the piano player or another guitar player as well, but we didn't do a lot of dancing, well except for Maria and Bob, and Frank and me, but we ended up in the OL too, it was just so nice up there. (We kept hoping that Maria would show off her greek dancing skills)!

Thanks for the seamail, sounds like a great trip so far - we're there in spirit with you.

Good morning from the ocean, sea day #2 with smooth seas and sun! I am not sure what day it it but if I guess Wednesday, I should be correct as we have several of them in a row. Last night was the Captains welcome and for dinner we had Carol and Ralph as our dinner companions and my favorite, Beef Wellington was on the menu and it was just wonderful!

Yesterday was also the first game of Pooch and this afternoon will be the first poker game, Mark is pretty excited about that.

Peggy, I will check today with Theresa to see if we can scan the picture.

Is everything running smooth on the board? If any one needs assistance, I will be happy to help from afar! I see Robert has been busy with the birthday cakes, if my connection speeds up, I just may get the chance to read other posts!

This has been a most wonderfull cruise so far. Great people to hang out with. Dinner with Karen and Mark was very enjoyable as it gave Carol and I to get to know these folks much better.

I also am looking forward to the poker game in La Veranda this afternoon.

Hi everyone. Just checking in with absolutely no news. Yesterday was so relaxing and fun just chatting with other cruisers. Once again - great group, both LCT and those other cruisers onboard. It was so relaxing that I decided on a power nap around 4 and woke up after 7. Oops - missed the Captain's reception & not dressed in formal wear for dinner. Eek! What to do? Easy - room service, watch a cute date type movie and the 2 "mind enriching" lecturers that I meant to attend during the day. I think they might be even better wearing a Regent robe and sipping on some Bailey's in the room. I did miss seeing everyone else in their finery but there are more formal nights to come. I stopped by the shop yesterday. This vendor is leaving the ship so all clothes are 50% off and all Regent merchanise is 75% off. I still couldn't find anything to buy. Sorry - this is the most exciting news I know. :)

Good Morning! Tom and I slept in till 9am which is unheard of us for us!! Our bedroom is so dark with curtains closed it's like being in a little cocoon! Jeeves the butler brought us coffee and juice, it's more than OK to skip a meal! Today is our 2nd Wednesday this week....strange1

Yesterday we had Texas Hold'em tournament in the casino. It was a full table and I was happy to come in the $$ with a 3rd place. Ralph won 1st place so we're thrilled for him. Today we've recruited lots of players and will play upstairs in LaVeranda just amongst ourselves.

Last night we went to the show in Constellation Theater...called Ballroom Bravo. It was EXCELLENT with the PG cast plus 2 professional dancers from Russia. It really ranks as one of the best shows we've ever seen including the many we've seen on the WC's ! Don't miss it! This afternoon they're having auditions for the "Dance With The Mariner Stars" competition. I think I've talked Tom into trying out! (I told him 1st prize was a free WC but don't think I made it very believable LOL). Try outs are at 3 so it may depend on how our 2:00 poker game is going. I think we need a representative from LCT so hope he'll go for it...not sure if any other LCTers are trying out or not. After the show last night we went to STARS where they had jazz music going. We were the only ones from our group there....now I know that everyone was upstairs in Observation Lounge. Ken and Ngaire came down stairs to STARS around midnight or so (??) and we 4 called it a night.

Tomorrow night is the B&K party in Ngaire and Ken's suite and then dinner with staff members. Tom and I are eating with Capt. Romeo and Karen & Mark are also at our table....not sure if there's other LCTers there or not? We're also looking forward to a "reunion" dinner with Louise (social hostess) and Franck (who's name tag mistakenly says Frank....F & B mgr) in a couple of nights. We adore them both and it's been way too long since we were with them so it will be fun catching up.

Oh, forgot to mention that our trivia team won yesterday. I was happy to be able to contribute (a rarity) by knowing the state animal of Texas...the armadillo! No luck at Bingo though!

I tried to download some pictures off my camera from Auckland (Sheeptworld and the winery) but kept getting timed out. I'll try again later.

Sounding like a broken record but this really is a FABULOUS cruise! :lct:

I'm thrilled y'all are having so much fun!

LAMB Ladies, could you do me a favor? I seem to be hitting a brick wall here. Could you endeavor to find out a US retail source for these new Anichini bathroom amenities for me? I have fallen in love with the soap and lotion! Reception keeps telling me that they are pursuing the subject with the "acquisitions master" but he/she must be terribly evasive and I hate to go to Guisseppi because he probably isn't even the right person to ask.

The jazz band in Stars is putting a crimp in the normal dancing we do after dinner. It is very popular with the passengers and think it is a nice venue for jazz lovers.

The Horizon is available for dancing also of course, just not made it down there yet. The trio in observation lounge is so great, we may just stay there and throw in a dance on the carpet from time to time.

Tom DID enter the Dancing with the Stars as did Valerie and Arlene. All were great no doubt they will make it to the next round. Great idea I think it is going to a lot of fun.

Trivia my team always seem to be ONE off. Got to hit the token jackpot at some point. I play with different people each day and do enjoy the social aspect.

Pooching has taken place for two days now and our new pooch addicts are really catching onto the game. Soon they will be fully addicted, it does not take long.

Weather is great, nice seas and sunshine. Food so far has been excellent, last nights beef wellington and shrimp bisque with Saffron was outstanding. I have had lamb everyday -- life is GOOD.

Nice group of people and I have met quite a few for the first time and have enjoyed them tremendously.

Starting with some days at sea is a great way to go. YOu get settled in and comfortable. Then some ports and ending with days at sea I think is the perfect combination. I REALLY wish I was not getting off in Tahiti but plans have been made and cannot be changed now.

Looking forward to the free cruise drawing that will take place in Tahiti. Always anxious to see who is going to win the cruise. CAptain Romero drew it last year and he will be doing it again this year.

Be back later it is TRIVIA time - will today be THE day??? Marc, Suzanne, all you trivia buffs swim down to the Pacific and join me. We need you.

No Tom, his real name is Suwecuwa or something like that....much easier to just "refer" to him as Jeeves. He's the same butler Joanna & Tony have too and none of us can remember or pronouce his name.

Tom did try out for Dancing with the Mariner Stars, as did Valerie. I think they were both very good but there was lots of stiff competition. I'm guessing there were at least 35 who tried out, many who are in Elsa & Dieter's dancing class. Each contestant danced with one of the professionals like Elsa, Dieter or the Russian couple from last night. They will choose about 10 or so to move on to what they call the semi-finals. This is where the hard work and lots of practice is involved! They are suppose to notify those who will and those who will not move on some time this evening with a phone call. Sure hope our 2 make it! After the semi-finals there will be another cut, just like the TV show. There were so many spectators in Constellation theater just watching. I have a feeling this will be a big success and they may start doing this on other ships and cruises.

Regardless if Tom or Valerie make the cut, I was very proud of them for having the courage to get up on stage to try out! They both seemed calm and relaxed!

Good Morning guys! Had a wonderful dinner last night with Ngaire, Ken, Joanna & Tony. Always so fun! After dinner (one of the last to leave CR) we went up to Observation Lounge to listen to the trio. We hooked up with another fun couple from San Francisco in the lobby who joined us in the lounge. Donna, Alan, Jim and Jan were already there so we had a BIG group. It was nice being able to listen to music but still be able to talk. Some left but 6 of us stayed there till about 12:30 just having so much fun and laughs. The couple from San Francisco are really fun….so nice making new friends on cruises.

Today is another sea day and tomorrow we’ll be in the Cook Islands. Yesterday I won the cover-all at Bingo! We also started our afternoon sea day
Texas Hold 'em poker games in LaVeranda at 2pm.

Tom made the cut for Dancing With the Mariner Stars. He was on the Mariner TVchannel this morning when Barry Hopkins did a brief interview. It was funny! They also showed clips of many of the dancers from yesterday’s audition. I’m not sure about Valerie or Arlene….haven’t seen them but sure hope they too made the cut!!

Tonight after the show the 10 contestants will go on stage and be introduced and draw names to see who their professional dancing partner will be.
Tom did the jive/swing for the auditions. I think he will have to do the Cha Cha or Tango next but not sure? (he can do both).. Luckily, he doesn’t have to do the choreography. Anyway, it’s all in fun. Still have no idea what the prize is, probably a trophy??

Tonight is the B&K cocktail party where we draw the winning names for LAMB and PEARL. The final drawing will be when we get together with those on PEARL. After the party we ‘re eating dinner with various Officers. We’re eating with Capt. Romeo along with Karen, Mark, Joanna and Tony.

It's me again, putting in 2 more cents.Well I finally learned how to play POOCHE and it is really fun. Will be even more fun once I learn to be as sneaky a bidder like Ken and Jan are. Ngaire is a great teacher. We were up in the balcony cheering on Tom,Valorie and Arlene(whom I have yet to meet).My... those guyscan really move. Had a nice dinner in La Veranda with Donna,aLAN, mIchele and Don. Not ONLY WAS THE FOOD AND AMBIANCE GREAT THE SUNSET WAS SPECTACULAR....and NO ONE had their camerera.
The show was wonderful as the impersonatercould not only sing but he bounced all over the stage, upin the balcony down on the floor. God he made the Energiser Bunny look like he needed Geritol!!. Closed down the Horizon bar with Don and Michele,at least you can dance there. Oh dear ,it's time for breakfast with Ray,More news later...have to start photographing soon cheer

Good morning from the middle of nowhere yet again! 3 seadays and I am doing fine so far. Another lovely morning, after I do my online chores, I will head up to the pool deck for a bit. Last night was a date night dinner in La Verandah with my dear husband. We both had surf and turf and it was fantastic. I know a lot of people don't like the buffet for starters aspect in this venue but I just loved the huge assortment of appitizers. Much to my dismay NO baklava though. I may have to inquire if it will be served sometime during the cruise.

Tonight is our BK party, those are always fun and I am looking forward to it and the dinner afterward. I think we pull the prelim winners tonight, I will keep my fingers crossed for the LCTers!

Pat mentioned above about last nights sunset, it really was spectacular and in full bloom? for lasts nights dinner is LV.
I think Marcie was going to upload some pix yesterday but she said the connection was too slow :( I know how everyone loves seamail pix! Maybe todays connection will be faster!
That's it for now, time to hit the pool deck, I will check in later.

Good morning 10:20 am - I cannot remember what I did yesterday but I enjoyed every minute - I know Karen and I spent a couple of hrs at the pool but it was very windy - had dinner with Ken and Ngaire - met "Shipless in Seattle" Kent and Jeffrey really nice friendly guys! Tony and I took power naps yesterday unheard of for him - right now we have the 3 hallway computers (Karen Joanna and Marcie) type and people watch - met fun San Fran couples past few days - think I will play pooch today and skip lunch - I have enjoyed late b'fast in LV and if you get hungry mid afternoon they have all kinds of goodies near coffee bar - tonight B&K party and dinner with Capt - the pretty dancers from PG are on this segment - our balcony has NO wind and comfy chairs for reading - Jan and Jim just stopped to chat - they just finished walking/exercising unlike some others - Karen just said her computer went down I'd better send this- yeah you got it - I am headed to pool too after visiting library - this is an A plus trip -

Sounds like so much fun. Dancing with the Stars really sounds awesome. Good luck to everyone. Seems like everyone is finding their own favorite spots and still getting together for fun activities.
Those HS suites are my favorite on Mariner, although we've never had one, I have sneaked in a couple of times on embarkation day to check them out. One of these days........
Thanks for checking in everyone.

Way to go LCT dancers!!

Do they get to wear cool costumes when they perform?

Amen Joanna!

Cheers, Anne

Ngaire - even if we do the speed butterfly, Marc, Suzanne & I probably won't arrive in time for tea time trivia.

We sure are enjoying the dance class! So many laughs. Teachers are working us hard! Valerie & I have been working on our husbands, at least they "attend" while we dance around them. I chickened out & did not try out for the DWTStars contest. Lots of women lined up for it but few men. So proud of Valeria - what a cool dancer she is! Tom, Too! He's a natural! We are part of the peanut gallery cheering for them.

The pool area has a ton of wind. We're so thankful for the HS - zero wind making it great for sunbathing.
