Alan and I have been on the Seabourn Sojourn since Oct. 25 and there's finally enough of a lull to report in. What a beautiful ship! We think the suite bathrooms must be the best a sea.

Last night was our first formal night with an excellent dinner followed by a great show with tunes from Billy Joel, Barry Manilow and Elton John. But the best part was dancing at The Club (think Horizon Lounge) until 1 a.m. Two groups of entertainers seamlessly switched out so that there was no break in the music, keeping the energy level very high. I had been afraid that the Seabourn atmosphere might be a bit stodgy. Not so at all.

I'll be writing a review at the end of the cruise (mid-November). But so far, we are very impressed with Seabourn, especially the attention to personal service.

Thanks Donna, I'm looking forward to more reports since I would like to consider this ship for the near future. What itinerary are you doing?

Glad you are having a great cruise. We just got back from two weeks on the Odyssey and we loved it!

Glad you are having a great time Donna. Is John Barron your Cruise Director it was so nice to see him when I was there. I do like the Sojourn a lovely ship.

Checking back in after a nice day in Barcelona.

We especially like the hot tubs that are scattered around. One is right off of the 6th deck, just a short walk from our cabin. Two more, with a small plunge pool, are located behind The Club. And then there is the regular pool on deck 8 with two hot tubs. Plus, there are more hot tubs on the spa deck, for an extra fee.

Ngaire, we had hoped for John Barron but the cruise director is Jan Stearman. However, Mark Hadeed (formerly from Navigator) is the Guest Services Manager and he sends his regards.

Pat, thanks for reading My Itchy Travel Feet. You probably won't see much there until after the cruise as the editorial calendar is planned way in advance. However, we're posting photos and updates on our Facebook page, although we're a bit behind.

And, as soon as I can, I'll post a recommendation for the guide we used on our 9-day Northern Italian road trip before this cruise started.

Maria, we are doing two segments - Rome to Lisbon followed by Lisbon to Ft. Lauderdale.

That's all for now.

Donna...is Captain Geir-Arne at the helm? If he is, perhaps you will have a chance to meet his lovely wife. They are both avid photographers and we really enjoyed getting to know them. If you meet Juvy please give her our regards!

Margo, Captain Geir-Arne boarded the Odyssey on October 16 as the captain for the second week of our cruise. We didn't meet his wife, but we really enjoyed him. We found out that he had lived in New Mexico for a number of years which is pretty unusual for a Norwegian sea captain! The day we disembarked we caught him photographing a coffee cup in the terminal while he was waiting for the next group of passengers to come by!!! (sorry for hijacking Donna's thread)

Margo and Sue, the captain on this cruise is Karlo Buer. Every time I hear him make an announcement, I think it is Capt. Dag. I'll be able to tell you more after dinner at Capt. Buer's table tonight.

Also, if any of you have questions or something on the ship that you'd like me to check out just post a comment here.

Last night's entertainment was Rock the Ship in The Club. Cruise Director Jan Stearman did a great job of leading the rock and roll entertainment, mingling with the crowd and getting the passengers up and dancing. One thing I liked is that instead of a wow dancing performance that would have intimidated the crowd, the ballroom dancing couple mixed it up with the crowd on the dance floor. Lots of fun. I'm dragging this morning for our tour of Gibraltar.

Checking back in to say that the Patio Grill has become one of our favorite Seabourn Sojourn dining venues. Outside, under the stars, excellent service - what's not to like?

That is great about the hot tubs and something I would enjoy--having them well thought out.
