We have been on four RSSC cruises and loved them all. We are going on our first SS cruise in Sept. 2005. Any thoughts as to the differences. I have heard it is more formal and a quieter crowd. I don't own a tux and I don't plan to buy one. It seems from posts that almost all the men wear tuxes. Oh well. Any other comments would be appreciated. We are going Nice to Barcelona on the Cloud. TIA

Welcome lapeter! I've never done SS myself so have no comment on your question but just wanted to welcome you to LCT!

Thanks Masaki, I have been here before, but got a new computer a couple of months ago and lost this bookmark. I am back and will be looking for ne info. I just read a SS review on this forum and it looks like SS is very similar to RSSC. Al

Tia and Al, I have been on two SS cruises. One in the Caribbean and one in the Med. I did notice that there were many more tuxes on our Med cruise, with only a small % opting for dark suits. As far as being a quiter crowd. I don' think that was the case, but then maybe I am the loud one. LOL
I think SS is very similar to RSSC, with the exception that drinks are included all the time throughout the ship. I think you will really enjoy it. Have a great cruise.

Al - congrats on the new computer and from what Don has said before, the similarities definitely seem to outweight the differences between SS and RSSC! Welcome back!

Al, it's nice to see you again! I can't wait to see what you think of Silversea! I am very interested in giving them a try.

Al, I wrote a review for the Shadow many moons ago. While I know the Cloud is a smaller ship with smaller staterooms, perhaps my take on food, service, etc, would be similar on any Silversea ship. You can read it here (warning, it is LONG) www.luxurycruisetalk.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000025
