For all those who missed it, Bert and I had a very special treat last night. We met Anne and Gary in Sanibel, FL for dinner at the Thistle Lodge. Anne was in town for a board meeting and Gary tagged along to play tennis and have fun. We had a wonderful evening and many of you probably felt your ears burning as we fondly discussed previous journeys and new ones to come. We even got to see pictures from Polar Bear! Here is a picture from our Micro-Ho-Down:

WOW how great. I too see lots of empty wine glasses. Looks like a really great get together.

Just goes to show you what happens when you make LCT friends, always something fun happening. Thanks for sharing that.

As you can see in the picture, we all had a wonderful time. I am trying to convince Anne to join us on WINES. Yes, Joanna, those pearls were from the infamous Shanghai Pearl Frenzy on PANDA. There would have been more empty wineglasses but we had to drive about an hour to get back home from the restaurant, just one of the many reasons why I prefer Compass Rose.

Friends from trips are fun. We had dinner the other night with a couple from ARTIC not part of lct. Lunch tomorrow from a couple we met on our E Africa cruise. Asheville is one of those places that draws lots of people to it especially at this time of the year. Bert and Mitch and Ann and Gary are great people. Looking forward to some future times with them.

Mitch and Bert deserve all the credit for orchestrating our get-together. the meal was terrific, the wine was fine (and still kept us under the legal blood alcohol limit) and the conversation even better. They will be hosting their daughter's wedding in a few short weeks .. what a happy occasion!

Jim and Pat Bittle also joined us for dinner during our brief visit to Sanibel. It was lovely to see them .. and Pat scored a hole in one this week! woo hoo for her!!

next mission is to get back to the West Coast of Florida and join Jim, Pat, Mitch and Bert for another fun evening of LCT folks.

I did manage to get my work done, cheer for the Phillies until they took themselves out of the World Series and enjoy hospitality LCT-style. Land trips do not get any better than this.

I think Gary needs to head back to China with me to find a perfect strand(s) of pearls for my outfit .. all in favor say AYE! *(and no NAYS or ABSTENTIONS will be counted) wink

Cheers, Anne

I bought some in Hong Kong in 2005? but I would be tempted to get similar ones again for me (Bert) and grands always arguing who gets what (nice thoughts) from HK pearls so maybe get them their own??? I am all for promoting pearls for teen girls   vs piercings/tattos ETC!!!

AYE Anne! Bert's are lovely and love the photo!

Joanna, you always make me laugh - pearls vs. tattoos and piercings!! Deliver me, but it may be on the horizon!

Speaking of the West Coast of FLorida, Arlene & I are now wintering in Sarasota.
Fell in love with the area last February, and we are in the midst of a renovation of a Condo here.

So any visitors to the area - let us know.
