Finally, John had his prostectomy at Amyo last Friday. Everything went well. All cancer confined to the prostrate. The robot did it with only 5 small holes in his belly. The robot actually cuts the prostrate out and spares nerves; puts it in a baggie while in the abdomin and pulls it through the belly button. Amazing. He was walking that evening and eating a turkey sandwich. Was released from the hospital on Sat. and went back to the Hampton Inn where we have a suite with a kitchen and separate bedroom. His biggest complaint and that is huge is the GAS PAINS! He has to walk and walk to rid of the gas. He seems very tired and isn't hungry. But, I keep pushing the water and juices. We hope to get the catheter out on Friday and go back home to Vegas on Sunday. The doctor wants to make sure he can urinate on his own before leaving Scottsdale. I am doing alot of reading and sitting in the AZ sun. Just wanted to update everyone on his progress. It will just take time to heal now. Judy :app:

So good hearing that John's surgery went so well and the cancer was confined to that area only, Judy.

Please wish John a full and quick recovery. Hugs are being sent from Alan and me to you both

Hi Everyone, We made it back home to Vegas Sunday. Almost a 5 hour drive through the boring desert; but we made it. John is felling fine, gas pains gone in a couple days. Will have to go back to Mayo in 4 months for a check-up. I am going back to work tonight. John will be off another 6 weeks. Still hoping he will get back to work before the end of summer. Thank you again everyone for all your kind words and encouragement. LCT'ers are the best. It is one wonderful group of people from all walks of life from all over the country that will pull together for you. We love you all and will be there for any of you that need us. love, Judy :app:
