It's that time of year again! Remember to:

a. set your clocks ahead one hour tonight; and
b. put as much of your life on hold as you can - best basketball of the year nonstop for about 2.5 weeks

Selection Sunday show is tomorrow (check ESPN - probably 6 or 7 pm EDT) and women's is Selection Monday (check ESPN under 'more sports' :p )

Any interest in an LCT bracket this year? My newest granddaughter is due during the tournament, so I won't have time to run it this year.

Marc, can you man up and set up the brackets, please? Unfortunately, it looks like your winning PAC-10 strategy will have limited impact - looks like 3 slots at most for them.

Not too high on the Big East taking the championship this year. Too many teams, and a pretty bruising tournament. Tip: If University of South Florida gets in on the bubble, they were AWESOME. Inexperience and a silly foul led to the Irish grabbing the win IMHO.

Cheers, Anne

Anne, do you remember the Group ID# and password or do I start a new group? What did we call the group?

Group Name LCT

Group Number 56011 (don't know what this is used for)

Group Password mariner

Here is the link for Yahoo sports.

Since I haven't watched a single game this year; I feel I am sure to come in last. :(

No one is interested in tournament this year?

So far, I am the only one that has registered. :(

Games start Thursday; just a few days to make your selections.

We're in Marc. I'm going to pick now. Not sure about Maddy. She is still fuming about Bucknell blowing the Patriot League championship. IT WAS PLAYED ON THE HOME COURT OF THE BISON!!

Anne, does your bracket include your or Gary's picks? Are you (Gary) going to submit another bracket?

We need more brackets submitted.

I've never done this before and I have no clue if it worked.....but I tried! It won't let me change to Anna B, so I have to use my real name for a change.....(Kathryn)

Kathy, I don't know how to edit your name or if it matters. However, both you and Pat named your teams almost the same thing

L C T versus LCT

It might be good for you to edit your bracket name (anything you want; even Anna B's Winning Picks :D )

Hi Marc - Picks are in under Gary's ID; Gary's are in under my ID.

It's been that kind of a week :app:

USF game looked a lot like Big East; off to a huge start. Difference was they eased up at the 2 minute mark last night vs. the 5 minute mark in the Big East against Notre Dame. Should be an interesting game vs. Temple.

Cheers, Anne

When will I ever learn to NOT go against Gonzaga? Some good games today .. Syracuse is alive by virtue of a much better late game rally.

I just noticed that Kathy and I picked 62 out of 63 games identically; so, if Iowa St beats Connecticut, I come out ahead; if Connecticut wins, Kathy comes out ahead.

Don't feel bad Kristen. My National Champion team lost today. I'm in another pool with my son & his friends. He must be mortified by my picks. But agree - so much fun.

Wow! Still stunned by Duke loss; even tho' I haven't watched that much this year, and am not in any pool, count on them to go much higher! #1 son, Duke alum, must be devastated!

What a day!!! Yesterday certainly was excited. Lehigh - my new 2nd favorite team!!

Betty, I am sure your son and his friends are just as mortified at their own picks.

A Kathy, you know I feel no sorry for your son.

It is such an awesome day in our household. My south bracket is completely blown up .. Gary's is crippled as well .. at least we can all enjoy the rest of the really exciting madness this March!

Gary says "no guts", Marc, as to why he didn't pick Lehigh. VERY exciting game - whole family on his side are Lehigh alum.

Speaking of the whole family, I'm proud to announce our newest granddaughter arrived this morning at 3:46 am. 8 lbs, 6 oz and 20.25 inches. All are doing well. Name is TBD.

Granny Annie has her pegged for the women's basketball class of 2034 for DePaul; PopPop Gary now thinks she ought to play for Lehigh. How perfect - another redhead born on St. Patrick's Day.

We're foregoing DePaul's women's first round NCAA game today in favor of an early flight to Denver. I am calling on Coach Meyer, who died six years ago today, to work the same magic he did that year. We earned our berth to the Sweet Sixteen cuz Coach Ray wasn't having anyone else win in his house.

Cheers, Anne

Crummy night last night for Wisconsinites. Oh well, at least two of our teams made it that far, which is remarkable.

Betty, you go girl! You still have the most correct picks. There's something to be said for that! :)

Thanks Kristin but with 2 of my Final 4 picks long gone, I will continue the downward spiral. I did enjoy leading for this one week. Past years I have been the bottom dweller. That Wisconsin game was so good but had to be heartbreaking for you all. There is always next year.

And I am with Arlene - Granny Annie, do we have a name yet for our precious girl?

Haven't had much time to check in much less fill out a bracket.

First and foremost - Congrats to Anne and Gary on the new arrival!

Second - I am starting on month 4 of a new job that I think is going to work well in the long run. (After 2 years looking and trying different things this could be good!) Big learning curve but starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to those who sent good wishes along the way.

And....should I say...what about those Jayhawks! (Have to say it now - Ohio State is tough!!)

Whoa .. that Kansas Ohio State game was a nail biter. Had to plan a cruise just to get through the game wink. Congrats to our Kentucky & Kansas fans.

Our little one is Riley Grace .. perfect for a girl born on St. Patrick's Day. Thanks for all the well wishes - she's doing great, and so is everyone else.

Cheers, Anne

Am not a college basketball fan at all, but everyone should be pulling for KU. I delivered one of Bill Self's kids and he and his wife are really great people.

final standings:

BadgersRudi 151 First place!
Anna B's B-Ball 127 Second place
Marc's Losing Picks 120 Third place

Seven out of eleven finished with 100+ points. I think that's a record for this tournament competition.

We are so happy to award the virtual NCAA 2012 trophy to our winner - complete with the UK team! :app: :app:
