Went to Dilliards yesterday as they were having a huge sale because I wanted to find another gown. For the first time in my life, I tried on a "slinky" low cut gown and It FIT!!!!!!!!! Except I really don't have enough "boobage" to make that style of gown look as "slinky" as it should..........But, I enjoyed just trying it on and seeing it fit in every other way!

Also bought new "delicates" in a smaller size....

Kathy, we may need to do that. I wonder if we can write one for 700 people!!! LOL

Claudia and Wandra. Guys may love it on women, but I am trying to make my "boobage" disappear!!!

I had weigh in today and lost another 3. A little slower after 6 last week, but I knew it HAD to start slowing down.

Don, Look at you!!! 3 more pounds, even after Diana's birthday party (how was it?) That is fantastic :app: :app: I love Kathy's idea about doing the Murder Myster on MUSH. Who knows, maybe you can get a big discount on the cruise for doing it!!! What a combo, earn discount, have the time of your life!!!

I, too, love the "boobage". I actually can't wait to get rid of some of mine. Claudia, did you ever see Rene Russo in the Thomas Crown Affair in her slinky gown? She didn't need boobage for that one!! Seriously, I'm so excited for you and your fabulous shopping trip. That must have been a WONDERFUL feeling!!!! Good for you!!!!

Loon, those temptations can be impossible to resist. I've been very lucky (or boring??) since the 1st of year and have not had any kind of function or party to go to. So I've been able to stay away from most temptations. Get me in front of a dip & chips bowl and I'm LOST :D

Wendy, hope you are feeling better. I agree, being sick is not the most fun way to lose weight. And it is always hard for me to not start eating big time afterwards "to make myself feel better". Hang in there!!!

Cyndi - I'd be happy to take some of your excess boobage! Then I could buy that slinky gown!!!

My wife had a funny one. She said that on a cruise you she could always tell which of the women had implants. I said, "How?" She said, " they are the ones that snorkel on their backs!" LOL

I had to go for a follow up with my orthopedic surgeon today. He asked if I was doing what he said and was proud that I followed through. Of course I'm not sure that he believed me when I told him that I had lost 33 lbs. since I saw him, the last week of December. How Much??? he asked in surprise. I said that was supposed to be my line after I got his bill! LOL

MUSH sounds like a lot of fun and it would be great to do the murder mystery onboard the ship. However, (sometimes I just hate that word) it is our 35th anniversary in August of 2006 and I promised Diana she can pick where she wants to go to celebrate. Knowing how she hates cold weather, I'm not sure that Alaska would be high on her list.

It is intriguing though. I think it would be fun though to get everybody together. We would let everybody know about their character even before they board the ship, so they could bring clothes in order to dress in character for the mystery.

Hmmm, a discount on the cruise for doing what we love. That has a really nice ring to it!

Diana might not be too far off on that one! When we were in St. Lucia there was a girl who had to have done some serious shopping to find clothes for her, shall we say 'cleavage'? I never saw her in anything that was a little less revealing. And you always knew that when you saw her to move your drinks, because she pretty much sprawled her, um, cleavage, all over the bar so that everyone would notice her. It was just too funny.

33 pounds - wow! Be proud, Don. You have obviously broken up all your old dietary habits. Good job!

Claudia, it's yours as soon as I lose it :)

Don, both your stories are so funny - about the floating snorkeling and the doctor's bill. I would love to go into my doctor and say I've lost 33 lbs! I'd even pay a big bill to do that :D Good for you!!!

Loon - the St. Lucia girl sounded dangerous with those things :D

Blew it last night. We went out to celebrate Dianas Birthday again last night, this time by ourselves. That wine was just too tempting. Now I am going to spend the next couple of days burning off the alcohol instead of fat.

I am so glad I discovered this thread the very week I was forced to go into the attic and drag out the larger-sized jeans I had stored away several years ago. Luckily, I did not have enough faith in myself at that time to throw them out. I shall follow this thread for inspiration as I try to lose the pounds that I have gradually regained. Weight Watchers beckons!

None of us are perfect when it comes to enjoying food, ponypal. I personally love to wolf down as much as everyone else. Yesterday I went shopping for white capri pants for my trip and even though my weight isn't bad, I found I had to buy a larger size just from lack of activity!

O.K. - my turn to beat myself up

As of Friday I was down 9 1/2 lbs since first of year. After this weekend, who knows what tomorrow will bring. Sat. I started the day off with a pastry (my all time favorite thing to eat) to reward myself for being good. I was then good for the rest of the day, until I passed a Baskin Robbins - had to have my usual 2 scoops of chocolate chip. Then, at dinner I was good again, until I just had to have that glass of wine. At least I didn't get the munchies after that. Then today, we went to the show. I wasn't too bad - a small bag of unbuttered popcorn, which is supposedly O.K. after the 2nd week on South Beach. The rest of the day I was good. But, I don't have a day to waste before PIP But I do have to say, the low carb diet is much, much easier that I ever thought it would be.

I'll let you know what tomorrow's weigh in brings.

Don, the alcohol is just a killer, isn't it? But you've been SO GOOD for SO LONG, that you not only deserved a little break, but you probably haven't wrecked your diet since you've been staying at your lower weight for such a long time.

Kathy - love your saying "Now and Then" instead of Now and Forever More". It gives us all a little needed break now and then.

Ponypal - WELCOME to this thread!!! I'm so glad you found us. Stay with us and we will help each other.

Loon, it just gets harder every year doesn't it? I find myself saying all the time now that the "middle age spread" is not a myth.

Chip - WHERE ARE YOU?????? Report in. I am hoping you are still hanging in there and I assume you are since in a thread this past week (somewhere) you said you were having nicotine withdrawals.

Well, I shouldn't have had that wine. Only lost 2 lbs this week. I will do better though this coming week. Superbowl is over, birthdays are over, and I have a full week of workouts planned.

Me too. I've *gained* two pounds! The wine is definitely the killer. I'm back to making my gigantic salads for lunch.

I think you guys are all doing unbelievable. Don't beat yourselves up! If you totally deprive yourself of any treats, you have a meltdown! Since I am now officially an outsider  looking in, I want you to know you are an inspiration. You are staying on target day after day, meeting your goals. I'm sure when you look at the big picture it can get overwhelming, take it a day at a time. Please pat yourselves on the back. A slip here and there HAS to be normal! And wine should not be considered as a total loss, it's not like it's a glass of cotton candy. It has some nutritional value :D :D :D

I'm really beating up on myself. I was .5 pounds away from my weight goal and so excited. Of course, we had to eat out after watering mom and dad's plants while they are on vacation so that we could have enough energy to continue on to Barnes and Noble. And of course I enjoyed myself too much on my friend Ron's birthday. And, what's Superbowl without pizza? So, now I'm asking myself, BUT WHY?

Kimmi, you are so good to us. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. It helps so much.

Don, another 2 lbs is nothing to be down about!!! That is great. Does that bring you to 35 lbs? I may have lost count along the way.

Wendy, I gained a couple of lbs too!! I'm truly hoping that it will come right back off. I'm on track again today. I'm still going to stick with the South Beach diet, but I'm going to count my calories at the same time. Without doing that, it is just too easy to eat too much. No matter how good for you the food is, if you eat too much, you have a hard time losing weight! But, I'm going to also fit in a treat once in awhile so I don't go crazy like I did this weekend.

Loon, .5 lbs is so, so close! Good for you!!!!!! Don't worry about the goodies you ate at the birthday get together or Superbowl. Re-read Kimmi's post above. We are still doing good and we will make our goals!!!!

Oh is it easy to stray the course. I was partly good this weekend too. This whole thing is not easy in the least.

Today I will have salad for lunch and salad for dinner. I'd love to be down 25 lbs before PIP and make goal before I go to Italy in November.

A day at a time...

OK, its is just like it sounds. In English it translates Quit Your B**tch***!!!

Here is another. What happens when you are on a low carb diet and you get constipated what do you call that in German? It is called "Farfremputin". :D

Thanks Cyndi, I would be a stand up comic, but I am too lazy, so I guess I will just settle for being a sit down comic! LOL Oh yeah, it is 35 lbs.

I guess though I can't get lazy while I am on this diet. I am now doing two a day workouts to try and accelerate my weight loss.

Kathy, I agree with Loon. Just think of all the clothes that you can buy in Italy. I am safe in saying this because my wife is in the other room. Last night I was reviewing shore excursions for Livorno and they have a designer outlet mall outside of Florence. Thank goodness that my wife is more interested in seeing David nude than in shopping while we are in Florence. I'm just worried about our 3 day pre-cruise in Rome. I sure hope we have enough money for cab fare to get to the ship!!!

Don,

You are too funny. Being a clothes-a-holic (there is no room in any closet in our house)I will be forbidden to shop in Italy (except maybe for SHOES and a LEATHER JACKET) so that will not be a part of our experience. I will only be able to shop to buy what will fit in my suitcase and that is rarely possible to add more. I will be saving for maybe some nice Italian Gold piece, since it is for my 50th and one size fits all!

Now, if I could only grow some hair on my chest I could buy an Italian gold medallion and keep my shirt unbuttoned for all the women to admire!!! LOL

As for shopping, my idea of shopping is I pull up in front of the mall and let my wife out while I sit in the car and read a book.

Actually after I lose all the weight I will clean out my closet completely (I mean everything) and go shopping for a complete new wardrobe. I guess I can finally get rid of that powder blue leisure suit with the white belt and white shoes. Hey, come to think of it though, it would look really good with my flowered shirt and gold medallion!!! LOL

I read this thread religiously, but am just not up to posting yet. I haven't dared step onto a scale because it's so depressing, but I am living a life of deprivation (in my mind, anyway). Truly, I fantasize every meal on what fattening treasures i want to eat, and then I go grab a nutritious cereal bar or fix a salad (which I do love).

One day, I'll work up to the scale thing. Just not yet.

I am so impressed by all the dedicated weight-losers here!!!

Pam,
You will do it when you are ready. I love to cook as well as eat and we entertain a fair bit.
One of the things that helped me is discovering how many of our guests truly enjoy it when I cook them a healthy meal, too. The biscuits and strawberry jam are great, but I don't make them as often.

When you are ready to do it, we will all be here for you to help you in anyway we can.

Trish
