Andrea, you made me laugh!

I hate to say this but Mark thinks Brooke is gorgeous. (I can't say I think she is ugly!!!) Then again, he thinks Carmen Electra is hot, too. I think they are just dressing her in wacky "rock goddess" type outfits to be as different as they can from American Idol.

Brooke is hot - I wish I had some of her attributes! Of course, I think she's married to a plastic surgeon.

Since I don't want to spoil anything for Masaki, let me just say that I think OB sent the right person home tonight.

Yeah, she was married to the plastic surgeon that augmented her "chestal region" (I think Karen used that phrase once :) ). I must say, she's great eye candy for the show, despite sucking royally as a host(ess).

Please don't spoil the surprise for me! Looking forward to tonight's results show.

Oh yes! Brooke is undeniably gorgeous, it's her outfits I take exception with. Dress her in something classy and she would look great. She isn't the greatest hostess, but during tonight's episode, I realized what makes her whole delivery look more ... cheesy, should I say? She puts on that pouty look and they play that ridiculous, "dramatic" piano music and announce who is in the bottom 3, who is leaving, etc.

I get critical but face it, I love the show! ;)

I haven't watched the show either, I am waiting for Mark to finish up what he is doing so we can watch together.

Kristin, this was the first night she annoyed me by acting like Ryan Seacrest, building the drama with "So and so....you are not in the bottom 3". It was so surprising that I actually missed it when she told the first person they were safe.

What a fruit loop I am, I didn't know it was a 1 hour show and only taped the first half hour. I had to look online to see who got kicked off. I am surprised Marty was in the bottom 3!! (At least I think he was, that's what I got online last night)

Yes, it was Marty, Ty and Deanna in the bottom 3.

Not sure why they made it an hour show - they can go back to the half hour show next week!

As much as I love MiG (don't read any further Masaki until after you've watched the show)...

Suzie McNeil, you are "roit for our band, INXS"! An incredible, incredible performance!

Wow, what a show!! I would have a hard time trying to decide who belongs in the bottom 3! Marty was his eerie good self, Jordis gave me shivers, MiG put on a good show and Suzie just rocked, her best performance ever! I thought her voice sounded as perfect as Freddy Mercury's!

I completely agree Karen. All were great performances. I think Marty might get the encore (I don't see them giving it to Suzie 2 weeks in a row). All I could think of was I can't wait to put these songs on my Ipod so I can listen to them again!

Well, I thought this week it was going to be between Ty and JD ... still think that the band picked the wrong person to kick off first, but maybe that's just me.

Andrea - I didn't "get" Suzie's performance of Bohemiam Rhapsody. I mean, it was good ... but I was expecting a "WOW!" after all the buildup. I like Suzie overall and I think it'll come down to Suzie vs. MiG in the end. But Jordis's "Imagine" had a bigger emotional impact on me than Suzie's performance. I agree that MiG was underwhelming this week. And I thought Marty was really great - it was touching to see how moved he was at the end of the song.

I thought Suzie's performance was good, but only because of the band & choir. THEY are the ones who made that song. What incredible sound came from them! And those backup guys hitting those high notes!

I'm not saying Suzie is a bad singer, and I do like her - I just want to give credit where it's due.

I wish MiG would have gotten to do that song...he really wanted to, and I feel "robbed" because he didn't get it. I bet he would've been the one to take the high notes instead of the backup guys...

Masaki, JD can go a n y t i m e now! I liked Ty too, but not for INXS.

I didn't "feel" Jordis this week. I was more waiting breathlessly hoping she didn't kill one of the high notes. I think she has a fabulously unique voice, and will make a great solo star. She's not right - or "roit".

Marty gave his best performance yet. Loved it. Listening to it right now!

Kristin, I actually thought the encore was better without the choir! (Freddie Mercury didn't sing the high notes either.)

I still have to say Suzie is the best person to front INXS. For me, she has the right amount of energy, appeal and vocal talent.

So, where does leave that gorgeous man MiG?? He needs to redeem himself next week before I make further predictions.

Hi everyone! I very seldom post anymore, but since you have this thread going, and I am a fan of the show, I thought I'd participate. I went to a website and found out some interesting info: Marty has a degree in Finance and works as a real estate appraiser, as well as a musician! Jordis is half-Tongan, which explains her rather exotic look. Mig, as I guess you all know, gave up a pretty good gig in the London cast of that Queen show, to come and audition.

I think Ty is a great entertainer, but not right for the Band, as many of you have said. Still, I thought his comments were right on about the public putting him in the bottom three 3 weeks in a row - some might say he is playing the "race card", but I think there is more than a grain of truth in what he said.

I personally think Mig is the most talented in all ways and should be in the Band, if he wants to. The Band has not exactly been the last word on the charts for the past many, many years, so this publicity should give them a real jump start, especially with a new singer. I don't think they will choose a woman in the end. I think Marty is too contemporary for this grizzled old band, and JD - well - just don't think so. Enjoy reading all your comments! The show has been fun to watch. Now, if any of you watch the Cut - thats the only other reality show I really go out of my way to see.

Ciao!

Glenda

Hi Glenda! I am glad we have another Rock Star watcher :)

I think Jordis's dad looked like my all-time favorite, George Clinton! My vote for the best song ever would be Atomic Dog. I think I might be the only voter for that song ;)

If you haven't watched tonight's show yet, make sure you watch all the way to the end when they show a scene over the credits. JD says something truly hilarious.

Well, just a couple more weeks left. I won't be able to vote tonight as we're taking the computer apart - we're having our wood floors refinished on Thursday and Friday - and we don't have anywhere else to set it up. That's why laptops are good!

Karen, in case I forget to remind you tomorrow - the elimination show is an hour long.

My Rock Star buddy Andrea's computer must not be back in commission yet!

I didn't like tonights show, I thought they were all boring with maybe the exception of Marty. My choice as to who should go home would be JD.
Even my favorite, MiG, didn't impress me.

Sadly, my home computer won't be back until after Rockstar is done (we're getting a new desk) - although I may have Jerel rig something up next week. I missed my fix last night!

I agree Karen about MiG. I did like Hard to Handle, but I thought his original was boring. There was an odd key change in there somewhere too. I'll have to relisten.

To me, the making of a good song is a catchy hook - which Marty's song definitely had. I woke up this morning humming "you and me, up in the trees....". I hope he gets to do the encore tonight. Not sure if I can still vote for it.

Now, JD. At the time, I thought his original was great. I really enjoyed it - until I remembered this morning that he didn't write it! It was the new song where INXS wrote the melody and asked the Rockers to write lyrics for. Remember when JD went off by himself because he didn't like the way Marty & Jordis wanted the song to go?

I really like Jordis' original too. Sadly, I can't remember anything about Suzie's. Tonight should be good!

Hi there sister rockers.......I agree that last night's show was not as good as others, but I'll tell ya - Suzi rocks!!! I gain more respect for her voice week after week - last night's redition of that great Bonnie Rait song (I Can Make You Love Me)was fantastic! It really gave her an opportunity to show off her vocal chops, which she definitely has!!! I liked that Marty song, too - he is a very, very talented guy. I still think he is too contemporary for the band, but we'll see......I think Jordis was mediocre, and will be the next to go. We'll see tonight! Its not that Jordis doesn't have an incredible look and a great blusey sound, but Suzi sings rings around her, in MHO.........

Karen, I didn't see how they could get rid of JD! They loved him last night! And, he rocks. Lets not forget, INXS ROCKS, and its apparent they consider themselves a real rockin band. I am a little concerned about Mig - he's getting a bit "soft" - he needs to step up his rockin - as we all know he can do! Next week's performances are critical aren't they - can Marty keep it up? Can JD? Can Suzi's obvious vocal chops keep shining through!!! She's the only gal left, and I think she could do a great job if picked, but do I really think when it comes down to it they will pick a girl singer? Naaaaaaaahhh!!!

I stand by my predictions - depending of course on next week, I would say next to go will be Marty, then Suzi, and the real fight will be between JD and Mig.

But what do I know.........I'm just an old lady whose mid-30's daughters used to be nuts about INXS 20 years ago!

Getting harder to make the choice, that's for sure. Jordis was the obvious choice to go this week but it'll get exponentially harder as time goes on. JD has been doing much better as of late compared to before. Listening to Suzie do INXS songs as part of the elimination round, I'm coming around to thinking that she could do old INXS songs justice. :) I keep wanting to hear MiG do an INXS song so I can see how he sounds with the material. I agree that his original song was boring with strange chord progressions and cheesy lyrics - I liked his other original much better.

That was a pretty good show tonight. I am torn between Marty and MiG. I think MiG is the most roit for the band but I like Marty's voice. I would probably be going all the way for MiG if Marty hadn't of sang one of my favorite songs, Creep, tonight!

I don't even like that Seal song but MiG gave me chills when he sang it.

As for Suzie, I got a Karioke feeling from her tonight and JD is just too annoying.

Hey Karen, and all you other rockers out there......yes, tonight's show was great!! Difficult to say who was best and who was least.....I have to say, I thought Mig and JD both did fabuloso. Suzi was rockin, too. Now, I'm not a fan of the song Marty did (except for his own Trees, but I think he is a phenomenal talent. I'm just not sure "he's roit for da band". He has a very contemporary sound, as I've said before. In his conversation with them, as well, he seems a bit pushy as far as what he could bring. Might as well say, "move over mates - the younger generation is here...." They might not like that. Egos, you know.....

I think Suzi could attract a lot of new fans if they pick her. Tell you the truth, I can't recall what she sang - maybe because she was first. I think JD seemed really, really professional - as much as Mig - and delivered both of his songs with real style and ROCKIN. I love that original of his too, even though I can't understand a word.

To me, Mig was the most polished, and seems the most ready, to join an experienced band like INXS. I now believe the final 3 will be: (ta ta!) Mig, Suzi, and JD. Can't wait until tomorrow! And I promise not to cheat and read all your comments until its over here (3 hrs. later, you know.)

Ah yes, MiG was awesome last night. I didn't even need him to take his jacket off to know I was going to vote for him! Does anyone else think Dave Navarro needs to cut back on the makeup?

I like Marty too, but I don't think he's roit. Even though he was first in the early voting, I think he'll end up in the bottom three and go home tonight. I'm with Glenda - final three Suzie, JD and MiG.

Just a caveat here - I have GREAT difficulty understanding lyrics to most songs, particularly the up tempo ones with lots of background. So "creep" could be a great song. So could the Vegas one by JD - I'm sure I don't know. I just liked the megaphone. I'm tempted to mute the TV and just watch the text on the screen, but then I wouldn't hear the music. Ah, challenges of today's music........I did that for that song, what was it - the Last Man on the Earth, or some such? Didn't Jordis sing that? Anyway, I STILL didn't understand what it was about....

The Man Who Sold the World, by David Bowie, covered by Nirvana & sung by Jordis.

Lyrics:

We passed upon the stair
We spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there
He said I was his friend
Which came as a surprise
I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone
A long long time ago

Oh no, not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World

I laughed and shook his hand
And made my way back home
I searched for form and land (Alt: I searched for foreign land)
For years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazely stare
At all the millions here (Alt 1: We walked a million years)(Alt 2: With multimillionaires)(Alt 3: We walked a million hills)
I must have died alone (Alt: I must have died along)
A long, long time ago

[x2]
Who knows?
Not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

Winner of songs that sometimes don't make a lot of sense: Tori Amos, but I still love her!
