to know if any of you who read the book "The Help" plan to see the movie which opened today? Author lives here so there's been quite a lot written about it.

Pat & I saw the movie yesterday and it is excellent. It follows the book very closely. The director grew up with the author in Jackson and he's an Ole Miss graduate. He got the movie filmed in Greenwood, MS to keep it from being "Hollywoodized" and it works. The scenery & houses are real rather than stage sets. Go see it.

Looks like my kind of movie, but probably will have to go see it by myself unless I can find a girlfriend. Hubby is running for city council. While he might go with me normally (to humor me), he is just to busy right now.

I just finished the book, want to see the movie. I've watched some of the trailers and it looks like they did a fine job casting.

I read the book last week while on vacation and bought it for my Mom to read. I want to see the movie, too.

I bought the book in Singapore last fall after ill fated TUT and left with my soon to be DIL from NC - we are both anxious to see the movie - different generations and a Yankee and a Southerner - so interesting to me LOVED the book!!!

I actually read the book twice shortly after it came out and really enjoyed it. Wasn't sure what they'd do with the movie.
Will be interesting to see how the lawsuit turns out.

We chose it for our book club last year and we all loved the book and hope the movie is as good.
Don't know when I'll get to see it. Too busy getting ready for WINES.

Saw in today's paper that the lawsuit filed by the person who claims the Aibilene character was based on her was dismissed because of statute of limitations (poor sentence structure, I know; I'm tired!)
Haven't had time to see movie but would love to hear others' opinions!
