On our March Mariner cruise the products were all "private labeled" ... not sure who the producer is. I hesitate to even comment on the scents -- that varies with the nose of the beholder. However, I missed the Aveda products and would really prefer Molton Brown.

I noticed when we were on the Mariner this past March that Regent had their own brand of products just marked "Regent" on the bottle but a few days later the Aveda brand showed up too in the cabin. Probably just using up the remainder of Aveda. Me too, I'd love it if they switched to Molton Brown. Pat

On my February Navigator cruise they were the private labelled "Regent Brand" products, and I hated them. Actually went out and bought shampoo, conditioner and lotion in town, for the first time ever on a Radisson/Regent cruise.

When we were on Navigator in November, they had Anichini products, and I fell in love; came home and ordered some of their lotion and soap. Marcie and Joanna sent me some from their cruise, because they weren't as wild about it as I am.

Pam I think the Anichini products were in the suites vs standard cabins - I am crazy about Aveda and the mint shampoo. So nice not to carry all that stuff in luggage -

I agree. I don't like private labels. One of the delights of upscale hotels, cruise is the bath products. I want to feel pampered not Holiday Inn.

I liked the new products. After a shower I did not smell like a bowl of oatmeal. Did not like the Aveda.

Pam - did you ever find a location where you could purchase those Anichini products? I love the Aveda Rosemary Mint, but those Anichini were nice also.

Thanks for all the input. Charlene, may I inquire what you hated about the "Regent" brand products? I'm thinking of bringing my own but hate the added weight.

I'd like to know too Charlene - I hate to cart that stuff but if it was positively awful may have to rethink - but I am someone who buys cheap shampoo etc so may be fine for me.

On the WC the "Regent" label was used for all products.. I had brought my own shampoo and conditioner and never tried it. I asked Tom about it and he said it was fine....typical man response.... maybe ??

Ladies, I don't know how to describe it, my hair just hated those products...it never seemed clean, it never seemed to rinse out properly, it left it limp and dull. Even the Caribbean humidity couldn't give it any body!! And the lotion never made my skin feel moisturized for long. I tried the products for 3 days, but then I just bought "off the ship". I hate to drag products along too, in fact, I just won't travel with that weight. However, if they still have the same awful products on next year, I'll buy stuff in Ft. Lauderdale once I land, or at an early port.

We are on the Mariner now from Ft. Lauderdale to Vancouver. I have the world's worst hair: fine, limp & straight. I have had no problems with the shampoo nor the moisturizer.
John Barron & Terry Breen are on onboard with us.

Sassy, I found the new shampoo made my hair flat to my head. Could have been the combination of product and the ship's water. It reminded me of how my hair used to react at the beach. Will be on the Voyager in June. Maybe I'll have better luck then.

If they got rid of it, and replaced it with some generic brand that makes my hair limp (it's limp enough already), I know I'm not going to be a happy camper. Hopefully by my next cruise (May 2009) they'll have something good again.

All your comments have made me wonder if part of the difficulty for those of us with fine hair is the water on board the ship. If it is overly "soft" or "conditioned" it can result in flat, limp hair. Has anyone noticed that it is hard to rinse soap or shampoo?

Peggy, luckily I asked before we got off the ship if anybody could help me find it. They gave me this supplier, and I was able to order from them:
Hotel Amenities Resource 200 Van Ness Ave, Suite 801 San Francisco, CA 94109
Phone 415-345-0007 Email: Londonsoap@aol.com
I called them; they seemed to be kind of new at this, but were amazingly nice and helpful.

Andi, I honestly don't know what they sell in the spa. I had taken my own shampoo and conditioner, and was pleased because the Anichini has olive oil in it, and my hair is oily enough without help. Do they even sell shampoo in the spa? I haven't been in one since the Carita people took over, so I am clueless.
