We are on vacation this week in Aruba. Exchanged our timeshare for a week in the Marriott timeshare resort here which is very, very nice. We stayed here last year as well. Weather has been good, the local folks are very nice, and we have tried lots of different restaurants and have had some very good meals, and not a bad one yet.

It has been a busy week as we are working on our scuba open water certification. We've enjoyed the dives so far and have two more plus the final exam to go! We'll just be glad when we get through all the skills testing and can just have fun! It is good that they have you practice the different problems that can happen under water, I can see that definitely will help with making us feel confident.

This is my first time on the computer all week - just taking the afternoon off from the sun. I have to be careful as I have a very fair complexion. The beach is nice and wide, fine sand and nice warm, blue water. One thing I like here is getting a palapa or shade hut for the day. I love to sit on the beach but have to do it in the shade.

Well, I think I will sign off from the computer and take my book and read down by the pool for awhile...maybe see if I can find a drink with an umbrella in it... ;)

Dena,

Yes, thanks for reporting in! It's always helpful to hear a good timeshare review. Great to hear you are enjoying your dive training. Congratulations in advance on getting your C-card! Hope the rest of your week goes well.

I was wondering where you were! So great hearing that you and Grant are having a terrific time!

Hope we can do some "restaurant research" when you return! Continue to enjoy your vacation!

Dena, have a wonderful time! I spent time in Aruba, and will never forget from our hotel, someone had a computer read-out taped on his door that the Dow reached 1000! How long ago was that? Early 70's. can't remember the date, but I remember jumping like a kid down the dunes! I hope you will find the time to rent an off-road jeep and go to the windward side of the island for a self-propelled "off road" adventure! The scenery over there is truly beautiful. Jes and I got stuck in the sand, and she had to push, push the Jeep out of a very small rut, it was the most fun time!
