We have been absent since our return from Pina Coladas. We have been busy trying to catch up and I am STILL battling whatever it is I picked up on the cruise.
Seems to be bronchitis although I am having nightly fevers. Hope I didn't contract anything wierd. It has been nearly two weeks and I still sound (and feel) pretty bad.
Paige keeps telling me to go to physician, but thus far I have been to stubborn. I may have to if this keeps it up.
Any advice Dr. Masaki?

OOps.....forgot to put in reply  Two weeks before my cruise in Jan. I came down with the same symptoms and am just now recovering. It's some virus that doesn't respond to any medication. I've never been so sick as I was with this "whatever it was".
Just hang in there and tough it out...Good luck!

Hope you're feeling better very soon! There's so much going around now that seems resistent to any medication.

Yes, Anthony - My MIL is on her third antibiotic and has the same symptoms. People around this part of the world have congestion for 4-6 weeks. After our Mimosa Brunch, the whole limo got it - I was in bed with a fever of 103 for a full week.
The Rx: Slow down, take it easy, have some chicken soup and Ketek (that's what took mine away) or Zithromax and post here the morning

These bronchial problems are the pits.
After our 5-day cruise, I went to the emergency ward in Miami, Fl. several weeks ago because of severe chest pains. After all kinds of tests and 9 hours of hanging around, it all boiled to to something like costochronditis.
I got an iv drip and pain killer in the hospital that really helped but also found that my chiropractor and massocherapist also helped by getting my ribs back in place and muscles rubbed out and relaxed.
It was all caused by about 6 weeks of coughing.
As info.
Anthony: Get well soon my friend.
Cheers! Ray

anthony - so sorry to hear you're still down with that thing. We missed you that last night at dinner, and hoped it was nothing. I hope Paige & the kiddies are OK.
Advice from this lawyer: Go to the Doctor.
And lots of chicken soup!
FEEL BETTER SOON!

It's going around since Christmas for us, we cant' shake it here at the house...Victoria is sick again with high fever and coughing since tuesday...I'm at my wits end...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends ~~M. Angelou~~

Anthony, what would you say to a patient who really needed the care you provide but who kept putting off making that call?? Hmm???
Call your doctor!! I hope you feel better very soon.

Hahaha!! Not to laugh at your misery, Anthony, but I'd have to agree with all the frustrated wives here (and Ray and Gil too) - no way to diagnose it based on that information. Could be anything from a viral infection to active TB. :D I'd also have to agree with everyone though that it does sound like the typical virus that's going around right now - very reluctant to leave the patient. I've had patients that have been sick off and on now for a month - nothing to do but to wait it out. Keep in mind the possibility of pertussis as well - it's making a slight comeback in the US (should respond pretty quickly to a macrolide antibiotic if it is).
Go see somebody! I'd take a listen to your chest but it's a fair distance from Hawaii to North Carolina and my stethoscope isn't long enough.

Thanks for the well wishes and advice everyone. I know I should go, but just have not made time yet. Paige is ready to shoot me.
Masaki, we need a telemedicine link. I can broadcast my lung sounds and you can diagnose the problem from thousands of miles away. lol
