Yay - I went to the Ortho Dr for my six week check today on the ankle, and I am now off the knee scooter, and able to put weight on the foot while in the boot. I start Physical Therapy on Monday and hopefully in two to three weeks I will be putting weight directly on the foot. YIKES, don't know if I'm ready for that. :eek: HAHA!

He said everything is coming along fine. I am using the walker right now, for balance more than anything, as I feel a little unstable and of course don't want to fall, but just in a few hours I am more and more confident.

Its been a long six weeks, and Frank deserves a medal or Saint Hood or something, as I've alternated from miserable, crabby, weepy to sometimes just being a royal PITA - some days have been good and I've been normal, but there sure were a lot of abnormal days that he had to put up with.

But progress is being made and I WILL be at the family beach house July 12 come h#$% or high water.

I apprectiate all the emails and PM's and support from all you wonderful LCT'ers :lct: it has really meant a lot.

Way to go JoAnn!

I actually came downstairs the normal way this morning instead of on my rear end (which maybe if I'm lucky benefitted from scooting up and down the stairs :app: ) and this morning am feeling much more balanced and walking around without any aid or holding on.

Now I just need to keep reminding myself to take it slowly and be careful not to fall - that would be the pits. :(
