Just wondering how many trick or treaters everyone got. We were way down this year. 194 Plus 4 trick or drink friends. A beautiful evening but a senior citzen home, Wal-mart and a couple of churches put on some really neat parties and that has taken away from the trick or treaters out and about. Does not hurt my feelings. That is great!

Zero trick or treaters here. Parties and daylight only trick-or-treating seems to be killing the tradition.

We were about the same as normal - 250. We were expecting more since we're still in daylight savings time. Turned off the light at 8:30.

We had zero at the house also, but here's a photo of one of the Samoyeds doing trick or treat therapy at a hospital. (She got a biscuit for a treat). Kathy ![[Linked Image]](http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee303/seadogsams/reganholloweencostumetherapy.jpg)

That is the cutest picture!
We were way down again this year. About 50. Last year close to 100, year before probably closer to 150.
They say that the extra light actually hurt the turnout. Strange.
It's our last one, at least for a while--in Feb. we move into a condo, presumably with few children.

We had zero, too. I buy candy that Sonja's kids will like, then just shuffle it on over to them after Halloween.
That is an adorable puppy picture!

Love the Halloween costume on the beautiful Samoyed, Kathy. How great to do that at a hospital. Adding: We had zero trick or treaters. It's too creepy to drive up our hill/driveway...now that my daughter & her friends have grown up!

I don't know how many but we were definitely way down this year judging on how much candy is left. Thankfully I dislike the candy we have! :)

With a tropiccal storm upon us, we had very few this year. It rained on and off most of the day and the winds were to strong for the little ones we always have. Lots of candy left...looking to donate it to a childrens charity.

We had about 100, which is pretty much normal. Almost all neighborhood kids as opposed to previous years when we had some "drive in" groups.
I decided to dress up a little. I put on grey makeup, outlined my eyes with big black circles and wore black lipstick. I found an old wig I hadn't worn in years and put it on. Kind of made me look like Medusa. Unfortunately I did scare some of the littler kids, but the older ones got a kick out of it and our candy bowl which grabs you when you go for the candy.
I love giving out the candy and seeing all the kids in their costumes!

Last night, my neighbor, Lynn and I put on some old masks, got two empty wine glasses and surprised a good friend. The friend and her husband had their house decorated to the hilt with flashing and howling ghouls, spider webs, etc. We sat on the porch, greeted the trick-or-treaters and drank wine. It was a fun evening. Our friends asked us back for next year, so I guess we weren't too obnoxious..... but I will be on the Navigator next Halloween. No telling what will have there. ;)

Our neighborhood had a block party for trick or treat on Sunday and we had about 50 darling kids. This started because of all the other neighborhoods carpooling their kids. Consequently, there was no one of Halloween. Lynn

Not as many as last year but we had more teens asking for candy and they weren't even in costumes! It didn't help that it rained this year too.

I pulled this up from last year. How many did everyone have in 2009?
We had 227. Actually 228 but a little boy said he did not like M&M's and gave it back to me!!! Did have 14 trick or drinkers who came and left about midnight!! :pass: Beautiful evening for them. Almost 60 degrees. No wind. Amazing how different it can be from one year to the next.

About 100 trick or treaters, pretty much same as usual. It does seem that they come in larger groups than they used to. Everyone showed up between 7:30 and 8:15. It was a gorgeous day, one of the few non-rainy ones we've had recently.

We only had 4 - all were in elaborate costumes.
Apparently most kids did not want to hike up a steep hill to get to our house. The climb would've been good for them.

Not one trick or treater at our house, but we are the only house in the subdivision right now. Our son, dtr in law and their dog spent the weekend with us. So we put Halloween collars on the dogs and took their pictures.
Many churches in our area have trunk or treat where you decorate your car trunk at the church parking lot and then the kids go from car trunk to car trunk...they feel this is safer for the kids.

Jim, Your post reminded me of last year, when I only had one, who looked in the bowl (of good stuff,) and said "no, thank you!" We've had declining numbers in recent years, as I think they don't want to walk the long driveway and climb a flight of steps, so I was tempted to not buy anything.
Was I shocked! Between 6:20 and 7:15, we had over 40, mostly in groups, and then it stopped. I suspect there were parties to go to!
So, better safe than sorry!

We did't have any this year, or last. But with only six houses (so far) in the sub-division, it isn't worth the effort for the kids.

Once again, None! No kids. No bags agape crying for candy! Don't know why I went out and bought the very candy that I so love to munch on when going to the movies.
Maybe next year.

Our doorbell only rang once - the pizza delivery man. I have no idea where our neighborhood kids go. It's a Halloween mystery.

Maybe a total of 20-25? Last @ 8:15 (during Amazing Race.) Prior to that, a group of @ 8 8yr old boys : "how many can we have?" Halfway thru, I said "are you forgetting something?" When they were all leaving, grouchy grandma KK said "nobody said thank you!" No response. Most unusual!
Too many leftovers!

I used to have maybe 100 drive-ups, but when a "walkable subdivision" nearby went up several years ago, it declined to the point that now I just turn out the lights. I used to bring HUGE bowl of candy into the office next day when it stopped, because I was ready. No kid would ever walk up my lane unless up to mischief these days!

Very spooky, very dark, and scary. And invisible from the street at night! But my brother manages to walk the dogs over there to relieve themselves. :D

Strange Halloween around the shore. We had perhaps 3 stop at our house. I went to meet my gal pal 1/2 mile closer to town. The road was teeming with trick or treaters. She'd given away 450 pieces of candy by 4 pm. The street was full of cars, so folks must have driven over to partake in that neighborhood's bounty.
Cheers, Anne

Time to check up on everyone and see how many Trick or Treaters you get tonight. We are planning on 300. Today it is 69 degrees outside so looks like it will be a really nice night so probably will have a lot of them.

Hi Jim:
You must own a chocolate factory to treat 300 +.
I suppose at most we'll have 75. Seems to vary drastically year to year.

I already ate all the Kit-Kats - my favorite - so the urchins will get granola bars. Somebody should eat healthy!
We live atop a steep hill so only get a few intrepid Goblins!
