![[Linked Image]](http://www.wnewton.com/pictures/9_090705230039_ginger.jpg) Here is Ginger Baker playing the ponies instead of the drums. He was quite the Polo Player. I shot this in Aspen 8 years ago. He is a very interesting character and quite the horseman.

I saw Ginger Baker play about 10 years ago in Malibu. He could hardly stand straight. He had two cigarettes lit at a time. But he sure could play those drums. He really didn't do any of the old stuff and he sure looked aged then.

Yes the 60's were hard on him. But he is totally clean now. Except for lots of cigarettes.
Ginger used live near where I lived in Colo and was part of the polo crowd that I did a lot of photos for. He sponserd a weekly polo match, after the match he would put on a concert with his son, Koffee. Even when he fell off his horse he would make it to the stage and play the drums like I have never seen or heard.
Last I heard he moved to South Africa. He lives for polo and the horses. Anyone that can play that sport has my respect. I am glad to see he is back with Cream.
He is really one the most interesting persons I have ever known.
