Marc and I had a wonderful weekend in Monterey attending Suzanne and Mark's wedding. I am posting a few pictures , though I am a terrible photographer. I am sure Ken and other LCTers will be posting more (and better)pictures.

Suzanne and Mark make a wonderful couple and seem so happy. It was a fantastic weekend.

What fun to see, Arlene! Thanks so much; even though I've never personally met any of you, I feel like a part of the LCT family. I knew the wedding date was imminent and I'm delighted to see the pix!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

One of our own in marital bliss. It doesn't get any better than that.

Cheers to the honeymooners!

This was a very special wedding in so many ways.

For one thing in California anyone can be certified for one day to perform a legal wedding. One of Suzannes best friends officiated over the ceremony. That made the ceremony very personal. Suzanne and Mark said some wonderful things to each other and the tears were flowing.

The country club was beautiful and all decorated for Christmas and the food was really good too. The band was a beatles band that really got everyone one up and dancing. We had a fabulous time.

Mark is a great guy and they are so happy, it is such a joy to see them together. Sharing in a special day like this was something I am so glad we did not miss.

Ken will post some pictures in the next few days.

Pat & I are back home from a wonderful week-end of LCTing.

Suzanne was radiant. Mark dove fearlessly into the deep end with our group of rowdy revelers and more than held his own, in terms of great humor, great drinking, and great carousing. But, most importantly, he and our dear friend are quite remarkably happy together.

Amazingly, the country club served perfectly medium rare lamb chops to a large group. Ngaire was happy, as all of us who took the lamb chop option were. Okay, okay, it was Pebble Beach, where they're supposed to do these things right. None-the-less, we were quite happy with the excellent grub.

Ah, the dancing... Frankly, in our LCT experience, it was pretty much the best since PIP on the PG in 2005. Everyone (except for Pat, who was taking pictures) was on the dance floor. Suzanne (who did not, in fact, ever morph into Suzette - hmm, maybe part of the new phase of life, with no extravagant hair tossing) danced with her usual abandon and charm, giving all of us a moment of dancing time with her.

As the victim of way, way too many Sambucas, I must admit that the latter part of the event, when wedding guests were fighting for taxis back to Carmel (Lordie, memories of the "Battle of the Boot Room" on the Hanseatic on POP), is a bit foggy; but I do attest that we made it back to the hotel.

In a few days, Suzanne & Mark are off to Papeete to board the Paul Gauguin. We wish them Bon Voyage for this cruise and for their new life together. (OK, Ngaire, you can cry now!!)

Cheers, Fred

May I add my best wishes to the happy couple - would it be inappropriate to say 'may all your troubles be little ones'? Lee

I'm home! The wedding was a Grand Affair and the halls were decked with LCT'ers. I'll post photo's when I stop bobbing & weaving. Olivia & I were the last stragglers to leave in the cold & rain so give me a few hours to find my camera and download. It was bittersweet to greet and connect with our loving LCT family and I'll miss them all...so hard to say good-bye.
Our greatest thrill was meeting Mark and seeing our Suzanne so happy!

Congratulations Suzanne and Mark.

If there was no Suzette, then there was no pole dancing, I assume?

Here is the poem that Anne pulled together in just a few minutes and read at the wedding. Anne and Gary our resident poets!!

Suzanne's our best pal
And a huge fan of Cal
We toured the Middle East
Ahhh .. it was so sweet!

Then we heard - to our delight
Mark was 'the man' and treating her right
Today is a real WOW!
Because Mark and Suzanne made their vows
Please join us in a cheer
For their happiness throughout the years

It was a darn good party if I say so myself!!

I am so privileged to have so many loving friends and family to have shared this day with me. I know I should be packing for our honeymoon tomorrow, but...

Here is a link to Mark and me exchanging our wedding vows. I hope it works. My new niece Katrina took the video and it is on her Facebook page under "Mark and Suzanne's wedding".
Watch me mess up what I wanted to say here.

Ngaire, I think you have to have a Facebook acct. I do but to see the video, you have to ask to become a friend of Katrina's. I didn't want to scare by requesting to add me as one of her friends as she doesn't know me!

I think Karen is right.

I have downloaded it to my computer and they are sending me a CD, so will try and figure it out when we return.

It was fun to see it today and listen to the giggles and "Aw's" as we exchanged our words to each other.

Off to pack...
