Go Giants!

What a great night! Friends, food, a Tom Petty half-time show, and a Giants win! How amazing!

Fabulous game and OUR team won! I know Arlene is absolutely ecstatic now!

Wondered this afternoon why no one was making a comment about the game, so I demurred, but am thrilled with the outcome. Just before the winning TD, I said "good thing I don't have a bet or my stomach would be even more in an uproar."

One of the best, if not the best, Super Bowls in history, just from a football fan's perspective!

WOW!!!! That was hands-down the most fun I have had watching a Superbowl since the Packers made it all those years ago. What a GREAT game. And, we were SO happy with the outcome. Must be some other Giant fans in our neighborhood, the horns are honking as I speak!

It just endorses the fact that the Giants are for real, and makes us Packer fans not feel like our loss to them was for nothing. To beat Tampa, Dallas, and Green Bay all on the road...WOW.

Congratulations, Giants! Especially Eli and Michael Strahan!!!

Most of the commercials, on the other hand, were a little disappointing! Good thing we had a great game to watch.

I fell asleep during the final 2 minutes (I know the best part of the game) and woke up to see GIANTS WIN! :woh: What a game!!! :chicken:

Kristin I agree the commercials were really lame this year! I got upset with the Bud one where the horse didn't make the team and the dog put him through training. I felt like it was animal cruelty to show him pulling a train. I know it was fake, but it just upset me as I LOVE horses.

Now Dallas doesn't feel SO bad!

Eli is such a cutey...better than Tom (in my opinion)

It was stunning! Plaxico Burress is a Va. beach boy and his prediction came true. You pick a favorite to win and I'm always for the underdog. A happy and exciting finish cheer

Karen, Bill & I agree, Jordan Sparks was terrific!

Congratulations to the Giants and their fans. I'm a Patriots fan but have to admit that Eli's scramble and that pass to Tyree who made his amazing catch with 59 seconds to go in the game was a play to be admired.

GREAT GAME!!! We were glued to it all and so happy the Giants won.

As for the commercials, my favorite was the Budweiser one with the Clydesdale horse that didn't make the cut so went into training (to the tune of Rocky) with the Dalmatian.

That was a great commercial!!

Tom Petty is 57!?!?! Most of the "kids" dancing at his halftime show could be his grandchildren. I remember a review in the Houston newspaper when he played there in 1995..."he's the oldest of the new rockers, the youngest of the old ones".

he may be old but he still ROCKS!!!

Loved the game, but didn't understand half the commercials. Age? Probably. Never seen sooooo many for water!! I liked your favorite Marcie, but my favorite had to be the one with Will Ferrell.

Agreed, Jordin Sparks was phenomenal. Tom Petty still ROCKS...I love that guy. Greg tells me Summerfest announced he's going to be there on his tour...if we can swing it with this crazy year we are having, I think we need to get back to Milwaukee again for that!!!

I thought the E*Trade commercials with the baby talking were kind of funny. Bud Light, who normally steals the show with their hilarious ads, was lame this year! (Except maybe for the one with Carlos Mencia, he's always funny.) That's OK, I am a Miller Lite drinker anyway. Miller did some pre- and post-game ads...smart people...probably saved many millions!

Concur super game, was glad to see the Giants prevail for in my book the 49rs are most succuessful franchise in the era of superbowls
records...they won five superbowls in 15 years...
cowgirls and steelers took over 25 years to attain five Lombardi trophys--Patriots have a chance to equal or better this record (have won 3/7 years) but w/loss it makes it tougher...also (concur w/what was reported in yesterday's USA TODAY) if Bill Walsh had stayed on w/49r's, believe they would have won 6 or 7 superbowls. Just frustrated at their play the last five years.

Thanks, Marcie, for the site with all the commercials. I've re-watched my favorite a few times. It is the one that starts with the squirrel in the road to gather an acorn - a Bridgestone Tire commercial. I also like your favorite, the one with the Dalmation and Clydesdale.

Hey Everyone,
Yes, it was the most exciting game in a long time. And for once, the team I was rooting for one!
Marcie, I agree the Budweiser commercial was my favorite.
Col Wes....I beg to disagree about the 49ers. Bill Walsh was a great coach, but their demise was the salary cap. Eddie,Jr could no longer "buy" his players to do well and they will never be the same as they were.

Lynn, but...despite the later salary cap challenges (after 94...the 49rr's under George Siefert won (with Walsh's team) two more super bowls less than 5 yrs after Bill left, Walsh would have won at least these two and I believe and possible one or two more-- they lost three NFC conference championship games (90-94) in that time span too (would credit 49rs at least one super bowl win(which would give Walsh six super bowls (assuming he won the super bowls Siefert won)...this proximity to multiple superbowl victories, is precisely why one of Walsh's biggest public regrets was that he retired too early....Walsh was a brilliant coach and hall of famer, Siefert is a good coach not a hall of famer...we agree to disagree. r/wes

Even if you're not a football fanatic. Gil was in Philadelphia visiting his mom and was down in the hotel bar watching. He said even he (a NY team hater) wound up rooting for the Giants. But the best was I told one person, Gil, that the Giants would win it in 3. Wish I was a gambler!

I think New England just got a bit too big for their britches and figured they had the game locked up. The Giants wanted the win more. Hey and how about back to back super bowl wins and MVP's for the Manning brothers?

We lived in New Orleans when the Manning brothers were growning up. Archie and Olivia did such a wonderful job raising their three sons. All three were great in sports and all were good students too. A wonderful family with real family values who happen to have two super bowl MVP's back to back. Great story for sports.
