My son just called and the doctor has admitted my daughter-in-law into the hospital to induce labor. I've been frantically looking for airfare that doesn't cost $1100 so that I can be there as soon as possible. Finally decided to use a SW ticket we have and drive the three hours to Roanoke. I'll get there just as quickly as a 2-stop flight on another carrier.
Anyway, by this time tomorrow I'll be driving from Raleigh to Roanoke to see my Anna Margaret.
I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: In the meantime, an editor requested I make some additions to an article I was writing for him. Sure hope it made sense.

Donna - I've got goosebumps! Seeing our grandchildren when they were first born are some of the best days we've had in life. The sense of wonder and love is indescribable (? sp). Have a safe trip and enjoy meeting Anna Margaret. Wishing her mom a safe delivery and a very healthy baby to charm the socks off all of us.

Donna: By now I hope you are the proud grandmother of a beautiful baby girl. My first (and only) grandchild turns one next month - the time goes so quickly, especially when they don't live close by. Enjoy every moment - it's just so very special being a grandmother! Lee

Baby update. Anna Margaret was born on Saturday morning, weighing 5lbs 6oz. I finally arrived at the hospital around 8 pm on Saturday night. She is a beautiful little girl!
And, I've already failed "Granny 101". I was given the priviledge of changing her into a "cute" outfit from the little hospital shirts babies wear. She is soo tiny that I found it a bit intimidating. Soon after that, I had to change her diaper. Well, I took too long and Anna tinkled all over her "cute" outfit. So, I had to put the little shirt on her again. She pitched a fit. Oh well. Today, I'm baking cookies for her homecoming - something I KNOW how to do!
Time to go outside to wait for her at the end of the driveway. I'll try to post a picture later today. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with all of you!
