In the midst of a recent dinner with Peggy (pwolftx) and Jerry and Kristin (azgkrudi) and Greg, the talk gravitated, not surprisingly, to LCT and Ho Down and how fun it was to have met one another through this wonderful forum. The six of us decided we would meet for dinner again before too long, and from that prospect came the idea that, hey, other area LCTers might be interested in an occasional group dinner too! Now of course the big HoDown gathering is coming in November, and we don't expect to pull in LCTers from around the globe like for Ho Down. Still, if you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area -- or even if you don't! -- and if you're interested in some legendary Tex Mex food and good company (well, at least we think so), come join us: When: Saturday, October 3, 7:00 p.m. Where: Joe T Garcia's Restaurant 2201 N. Commerce Street, Fort Worth (near the Stockyards area) www.joets.com We'll call it a pre-Ho Down ho down. Come one, come all!

Hi Priscilla:
Sounds like fun but we'll be in New York on the free vacation we won to visit the Big Apple.
Have fun!
Cheers! Ray & Penny

Priscilla, that sounds like fun. We are in Georgetown so who knows we just might be able to make one of your Texas gatherings.

Unfortunately we'll be in Sydney on Oct. 3 (no tears, please) ... BUT, you know us Priscilla, Paula and I LOVE to join friends for dinner. Please keep us posted about such opportunities.

Well we love good Mex food, and they don't have much of that here in VA, but we will be on a plane coming home from our Mexican Riviera cruise, so hopefully we will have had some authentic Mexican food somewhere along the cruise.
Have fun ya'all - see you in Nov.

Ray and Penny in New York, Luke and Paula in Australia, and JoAnn and Frank on the Mexican Riviera ... I can't understand why you all wouldn't want to cancel to meet us for dinner in Fort Worth! Kristin, we'll hold down the home front.
Carolyn, if you can make the drive from Georgetown to join us, that would be great. I would love to meet you in person.
Luke, you KNOW you and Paula will be front and center in planning for any future DFW dinners. No doubt about that.

Oh...boo hoo, we'll be in Spain so we'll have to settle for some tapas, but we'll be in an LCT frame of mind! :)
See you in November at the ho down!

Sounds like delicious fun but Alan and I will be in Japan on the Mariner. We'll see Peggy and Jerry when they board in Hong Kong.

My goodness! Spain for Margo, Ensenada for Marcie, and Japan for Donna. On October 3 LCTers will be far flung around the globe! Oh well, we'll keep things under control here in Texas and keep hoping that a few LCTers are between spectacular trips and can join us.

Yay, Lauri! Hope you can join us. I realized our dinner date will be exactly one year from when we'll be boarding Voyager for TUT. Definitely something to celebrate that night!

Priscilla - I love Joe Ts and would be there as fast as I could get to DFW. And I won't be off in some distant land on the 3rd. But....I will have only been home from Japan for 1 day after being gone for almost a month. I think I better stay in Houston that weekend. Oh how I hate to miss the food and the company! Next time for sure.

Lauri, your place at the table is set if you can come!
Betty, ah, to be so close to working with your schedule. Oh well. At least you will be here in November for Ho Down, but I wish it would have worked out for October too. :(

I started to suggest the next weekend and then realized that's Dallas Weekend for OU-TX and knew it wouldn't work. Yes, Ho Down definitely on my calendar.

Betty, I hadn't realized the OU-TX conflict for the next weekend! Good thing we didn't pick that date. As much as John likes Joe T's, we definitely would be without him for the evening!

Ha! OU-TX - football, here we come!!! That's the reason why we aren't going to the Keg dinner on HODOWN Sunday. Packers vs. Cowboys - not gonna miss that! (But of course I am cheering for the Packers :) )

Oh dear - I am wrong. So sorry. They always play that game the 2nd Saturday in October - the day the State Fair opens. Just looked - it's Oct 17th this year. Must have something to do with TV. Kristin - you are allowed to cheer on your Packers as long as you support Oklahoma in The Big Game!
