Happy Holidays, Yall!!
I reverted quickly back to my lurker state right after our christmas cruise in 2006 on the Mariner. Things went rough-going with my parents after our cruise last year and health problems --especially my mom's---have kept this full-time working, sole care giver to his two parents, very very busy.
I am almost afraid to say it even in this forum but I am thinking our cruise last year could be our last together as a family and that makes me sad.
I dont even know if Andrea from BOS remembers meeting us on the Dec 2006 Mariner chirstmas cruise but you came for a quick visit in our suite---hi Andrea if you are out there!!!!
I booked for myself next year with B&K September 2008 a 7 day Alaska cruise Sept 10 as my "caregiver getaway" cruise but I can only keep my fingers crossed it will work out-----And I dont know how to break it to my parents without breaking their hearts ---because I know they would love to go but probably cant. I need a short break.
I am hoping there will be a world cruise journal to follow along for the next year and I have been having great fun reading and following along on everyones cruises with Regent and B & K trips. Keep it coming !!!!
Happy holdays to all, and boy that felt good to even just type out on the computer.
I hope I didnt come across as a downer, but I wanted to get the point across to everyone out there pondering their next RSSC cruise---or whatever vacation----GO GO GO--Cruise Cruise Cruise while you can can can---life is too short and you cant take it with you.
Bye for now---Randy

Boy, Randy, do we know that. Clyde and I are in the "elderly" group - 82 & 92, respectfully, and we know that life is very short and that we need to live every day as the first and last. So because of that, we have booked cruises as far ahead as 2009 with the hope we'll be around to take them TOGETHER. You really need to have something to look forward to. So I'm sure you will have that cruise and maybe with your parents. I hope.

Happy holidays, Randy. Thanks for keeping us posted on what's happening with you. Our sympathies on your parents' health problems and don't feel bad about taking some time away - you need it. Care for yourself and you'll be able to care for others better.

Hi Randy!! Of course I remember you and your parents. I'm so sorry to hear that your mom's health hasn't been good. It sure does sound like you could use some time to yourself.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday - it's great to hear from you!!

Randy, so glad you've posted again. Working full time and caretaking full time are hard duties to combine. Do whatever you can to take that Alaska cruise, you deserve the down time. Check back here from time to time, we're always good for a laugh - the best medicine.
