Hello all,
I've gathered a wealth of information from LCTers over the past couple of years and have met a few of you on Regent's '06 WC, so I thought it was time to lurk no more and join in.
My husband Lou and I have always traveled when we could fit it in between our work schedules. Prior to the world cruise, we had never taken a trip longer than 3 weeks, or a cruise longer than 10 days, so taking a 4-month sabbatical from both of our jobs was looked upon as rather unusual by family and friends. The experience changed our life and now there's no turning back! Like so many others, we posted an on-line blog, which kept us connected to all of our loved ones back home and allows us today, to re-live all of our wonderful memories.
Because of our wonderful experience last year, we decided to sell our home on Cape Cod and downsize so that we can retire and travel more. We weren't actually prepared for our house to sell quickly, but it did, so now we are "in between" homes and considering relocating to Georgia or South Carolina.
We recently booked the Navigator's Fall '08 DC from Monte Carlo to Ft. Lauderdale and I've seen on the boards that several LCTers will be doing this as well, so I hope to make some new friends on this trip.
Thanks to everyone for all of your past advice and I'm sure I will need lots more to prepare for our next wonderful Regent experience.
Tina

Hi Tina, and welcome out of lurkerdom.
I retired last June and work part time, now to pay for the DC cruise. Crystal and I are rooming together on this one. Glad to have another LCTer on this cruise. I am sure we will be sharing lots of information.

Hi Tina, I'm so glad you finally posted. I thought maybe we would see you on FJORDS, for some reason I thought you had booked it. Maybe you switched to the DC cruise on Navigator? In any event, you made a wonderful choice. Sure wish a segment had our name on it but so far, it's not to be.
Good luck in your home search and say hi to Lou for us. And, welcome to LCT!

Hello, Tina. As Beth mentions, she and I will be on the DC cruise (picking it up in Athens). I am going the sabbatical route, and those who are aware also are finding my plans rather strange. Ah, if they only knew!
Look forward to meeting you!

Welcome to LCT Tina! Tom and I have lived in GA for the past 19 years - we migrated from Wisconsin. We don't live in Atlanta - we are about 90 miles further South. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about moving here.

Hi Tina & Lou,
Long time! Congrats on joining up here, selling your home and your upcoming fantastic voyage. Good luck on finding your new home. If you decide to move a little further north into NC, I am sure that Beth or I would be happy to help if we can. Very exciting times for you two! Debbie

Thanks for all of your encouragement and a special hello to my former cruisemates, Donna & Alan and Debbie & Clay. It's hard to believe how quickly time goes by. I hope you are all well.
Yes, Donna, we were booked on FJORDS and grudgingly cancelled when it was clear the house was going on the market. But it didn't stop me from reading seamail & living vicariously.
I may take some of you up on your offers of advice for relocation. We're heading south in a couple of weeks for another look-see. I'll let you know how we make out.

Tina, With Crystal in the DC area and me in eastern NC, whenever you get settled in the south, I do see a pre-Discovery Cruise Get Together in our future. Oh course, Debbie, you and other southeasterners will be included.

I followed a link from the CC boards to your site. I have just won a Regent Navigator 11 day cruise from a travel agency in California. YEAH
Although we have been on 35 cruises (platimun on Cunard and Princess) we have never sailed on a 490 passenger ship with all suites, so we are really excited.
We are senior citizens and live in Florida.

Congratulations on the win and welcome to LCT! Navigator was our first Regent ship - we loved her but make sure that they give you a suite away from the back. It does vibrate back there.

At last I have got around to introducing myself, Sheila, and my husband Ken on LCT. We are from QLD Australia and had the opportunity to meet some of you on PANDA. Thankyou to everyone on that cruise for making us so welcome and especially to Ngaire and Linda. We had such a great time as soon as we returned home I cancelled a previous cruise booking so we could join you on CAMEL. We've also booked Mumbai-Capetown and Valparaiso to Sydney in 2009. And are now eagerly looking at the new itineraries just posted for 2009.
It was just by chance that I came across Ngaire's name on CC website. I then became a 'lurker' on LCT for a while to get confidence to book PANDA with an agent from overseas. Ngaire's emails to me were so full of information, she so promptly answered all my many questions that I knew that Ken and I would be very happy and we were.
So now we can look forward to meeting more of you in the future, and to catching up with the friends we have already made.
Sheila and Ken

We had the pleasure of meeting Ken and Sheila on PANDA and they are a wonderful, sweet, funloving couple... the perfect addition to LCT!1

Sheila - I'm so glad to hear from you! You'll be on CAMEL? That's great news, indeed. You're picking a couple of wonderful cruises.
We'll look forward to seeing you in April in Dubai. Hopefully, no lazy susan lunches like we had in on our tour from Shanghai.

Hi Anne and Gary. Great to hear we'll meet up again on CAMEL. We're doing the pre cruise Cairo tour first, are you? And also a hello to Arlene, Masaki and Dena, hope to see you again, maybe 2009. Yes Ngaire, I did finally get around to it....always intended to, just a bit tardy! I didn't like being called a 'lurker'. Poster sounds much better.

Hi Sheila - it's good to see another Aussie joining the group. I'd love to live where you do - it's a fabulous part of the world (perhaps air conditioning would help in summer). Ngaire sent me lots of information on Valparaiso to Sydney as I had no idea where it was (perhaps I shouldn't admit to that in writing). I'll read through it all tonight and see if it's a possibility. I've been on three cruises with LCTers and had a great time. Ngaire is the best! Lee

Hi Lee - we moved to Noosa from Sydney 23 years ago, just love the beautiful climate and beaches. Hope we'll meet you on the Valparaiso to Sydney cruise, such a fantastic itinerary and how great to have only a short flight home at the end.
And a big hello to Olivia.Hope we'll meet up soon, we had a some lovely dinners together on PANDA.

Hi Sheila: My ultimate goal was to retire either on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast but I can't get my husband out of Sydney. I have a sister and daughter (and grandson) living in Brisbane, so it would have been ideal.
I hate to admit this, but I can't find that cruise anywhere - can you help. Lee

Hi Lee...........It's a segment of the world cruise on the Mariner leaving Valparaiso on 28/2/09 into Sydney on 25/3/09. It's on Ngaire's web site. Worth a look.
