Bert and I just took a weekend trip to Orlando and could not resist seeing the Wild Animal Park just to get a little tiny preview of ROAR2. I posted a few pictures including one of some Meerkats, as I know they have fans.

18-200 mm. I had the 70-300 with me, but didn't use it. Challenging situation because they don't stop the vehicle for anything so motion was a problem. By the way, we decided we are too old for some of those rides. We went on Expedition Everest first thing in the morning and it wasn't until we ate a cinnamon bun at 11 AM that we felt well again!

Nikon? Canon? Tamron lenses? I know Canon doesn't make an 18-200 or a 70-300 that's current.

Mitch and I are the Nikon users on LCT :) The 18-200 mm lens on the Nikon is a very nice lens, wonderfully versatile.

By the way, they do have a nice "African" restaurant at the Jungle Lodge called Jiko which, although not authentic, has a great selection of South African wines-Yum! We did not stay at the lodge, but many of the rooms have verandahs which look out on the open animal park and I hear it is very interesting to stay there.

Mitch - the next time we go back to WDW, we're planning on staying at the Jungle Lodge and getting our version of watered down ROAR ... :)

Mitch, I saw your photos the other day...you know we love the meerkat!

AKL is my favorite at WDW. We always get a Savannah view room so we can watch the animals wander.

Kathy...you must be thinking of the Canon 75-300, which is an older lens. I have a 70-300 IS - I think Michele does too. She recommended it to me.

I have been paying attention to the professional lenses as opposed to the consumer lenses. I do have the older 75-300is which I don't use. The 70-200is 2.8L is my new favorite
