Have clients sailing on the first segment of the South America. They will be staying in LIMA and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. They prefer 4star and above, city center, near sightseeing, etc. Thanks.

We stayed at the Miraflores before LLAMA. It was very nice. We were only there for two nights in an executive suite with ocean view. It's walking distance to a nice mall with a few good restaurants.
We didn't stay longer because we were off to Machu Picchu. --------------------

Thanks Eugene, will note that. They are thinking about the JW Marriott, which looks like it is along the beach, in the Miraflores area, is that near the city center for sightseeing, churches, plaza's etc?

I'm no expert. We were picked up and dropped off at the hotel. As I said, there was a nice plaza nearby. The B&K gang -- Linda, Susan, and Ngaire know the area better than I. This hotel gets high marks that I do know.

Thanks. I took a look at it and it really looks fabulous and I am going to suggest it. They will be there two nights after disembarking and then one night again after coming back from the Galapagos.

It is a beautiful hotel but it is not near downtown Lima. I don't think it would be too hard to have the hotel arrange a car/driver for the day and that would probably be the best way to see the sites in Lima. I didn't particularly like Lima but perhaps that could be that it suffers in comparison to Cusco and the Galapagos.

Thanks everyone, since the Galapagos portion is booked thru Ker and Downey, I am turing the hotel and transfers over to KD as well and they will work directly with the client to set up the best situation for their needs.

We were in Lima a few years ago and stayed at the Country Club. It was a gorgeous property with large rooms and even larger bathrooms. Was built to be a gentlemen's club and very art deco.

We had an overnight in Lima with HAL , and were warned not to go into the Downtown or City area at night. Miraflores was the only place to go. We did a ships day tour into the City Centre and had a driver, guide, and a security guard who came complete with shotgun.
