We are planning to do some wandering, maybe shopping, whatever while in Ft. Lauderdale. With 5 of us (and our luggage!) a limo service would work better than taxis. Cost isn't really an issue since it's the start of a vacation. Any recommendations?

Aventura Limo is the service we use here. They are very reliable and the cost is the same as their competition.

I had heard they were good so I used them for my MIL and daughter for a pick-up at the Port of Miami and it was nothing but problems... they showed up very very late and only after repeated telephone calls did they find them... Hate to speak bad but I would not use them again and my sister uses them all the time...

Please make sure that you are very specific where you want to be met...

Ronnie, we use them all the time, and have had the best service. I'm sorry you had some problems with them. I think that the company was sold a few years ago and the new owners are wonderful. The have the contracts at most of the large hotels in Miami Beach and Broward County.

Actually I just used them this past July... the whole thing was a disaster from the beginning... I personally used someone else there 3 years ago that was recommended on this board and they were great...

Who did you use? I do have a request for quote in to Aventura but so far have not received a reply.

That was part of my problem also... they never returned telephone calls and I repeatedly had to call them... and then of course after paying them, they showed up very very late to pick up my daughter and MIL and that was only after I would not get off the telephone...

We had a problem when we disembarked. We wanted a van to go to the Airport since we were going with Don and Diana and so much luggage. We were steered to a van and the driver loaded our luggage. But there was not enough seats for all 4 of us and they were in the far back. The van was already full - only 2 seats really for 4. The driver refused to give us back our bags. The porter we used took them out anyway and got us a private van. She had some authority to report the driver. I wish I remembered the service's name. Maybe Don will. We did hire a private van from the Hotel for all of us to go to the ship and that was flawless. I think it was Airport Express.

I don't remember the name either. What a mess that was!

I winter in Ft. Lauderdale and have used Broward Limousine Service for 10+ years. They have always been prompt and courteous. We particularly like a driver named Kevin.
