I’ve just updated the blog through yesterday, when we went to Elephant Island because of conditions in our other planned stops in Antarctica. Unfortunately, the weather has not co-operated very much. We’re now heading for the Falkland Islands, and we very much hope that we’ll be able to tender at Port Stanley. It is like pea soup outside, and we are actually using the fog horn continuously—that may make for an interesting night’s sleep.

We did have an interesting afternoon of seeing Elephant Island yesterday and many more icebergs. We’ve seen very little wildlife.

Yesterday was Gail’s birthday, and we had a special dinner that was excellent. All is discussed in the blog. We just Skyped kids on both coasts, including seeing the new twins. However, the signal was not great, and we’ve had Internet problems throughout the day.

If I have a chance, I’ll try to post some pictures on LCT tomorrow, though I see that Ken has beat me to some of the icebergs I also photographed.
