When we sailed on Voyager out of Ft. Lauderdale in 2003, the Amex Platimum embarkation was definitely present and commented on as we got on the ship.

When we sailed Mariner out of San Pedro, it had been announced that Platinum card holders could board at 10:30 am; somebody forgot to tell the people that needed to know. It was chaos, people were fighting over the supplied wheelchairs, and boarding was a complete cattle call. We didn't say anything, we sat back and people-watched.

Port Everglades is huge, our cab driver didn't have a clue how to get to the ship, and once we got there we were busy talking to Suzie and Marilyn so just went with the flow. I don't think any of us even mentioned the Amex thing, but the guy who was herding us didn't seem to be interested in anything except keeping us where he told us to be.

Our next embarkation is in Copenhagen, so I fully plan to explore what's what before we get there.
