Tom's relatives on LI were hit hard with Sandy and still don't have power. They're staying with other friends and family.
His nephew had a real double Sandy whammy when a big tree fell on his car and another tree fell on the roof taking out the upstairs bedroom where his 2 daughters sleep. Thankfully they weren't in the room at the time. I have no idea when they'll get their home repaired...get in line.
