Not mentioned yet is the consideration that always bedevils us - packing for the pre or post cruise extension. Travelling on land following a cruise is usually a completely different animal. The formal stuff becomes dead weight along with other things that are not needed. And, if the extension has unique requirements(dive equipment or specialized photo gear)the weight increases geometrically! A few years back a cruise on the Diamond from Rome to Venice was part of an around the world trip (best bargain in air travel) all the cruise stuff got shipped home from Venice! We have learned that the only "hard" information on dress is available when you read the sailing day schedule. There should be a better way.
