I have found that by stating you wish seperate checks,BEFORE you order that it "usually" works.
Normally when with friends its just a "split the bill".I really dislike,"well I only had this and you had....." However that would never happen here I bet, everyone sounds way to congenial.Ray and I can polish off a bottle of a good white wine by ourselves at dinner and maybe a tad more.
