Jeff, we really can't compare it to RSSC yet. We are finally doing our first Radisson cruise in August on the MUSH cruise that many people on LCT are going on as well. We were booked to do the Diamond Med cruise last year, but the ship was sold and we ended up again on the Whisper again. Aside from SS being All Inclusive, I can't think of any differences that we have heard. I understand from people that have done both that they are pretty equal, with maybe a slight nudge to SS for service.

Maybe that has something to do with the SS ships being smaller.

Shadow and Whisper are about 28,000 tons and have a maximum of 288 people onboard and the cabins are 287 sq ft interior space with verandahs adding about another 50 sq ft. By comparison the Mariner and Voyager are about 50,000 tons and have about 700 people onboard. Sq footage is about the same with about the same size verandahs.

As far as the wine list, SS used to supply a list of the wines served, but lately we have found them serving so many different varieties from all over the world that they no longer provide a standard list of wines. I found them to be acceptable for the most part and in the general range of $20-$30 for what we would pay at our local wine shop for the same wines. Of course they do have premium wines also available. We also liked their standard champagne that is served throughout the ship, which is Pommery Grand Brut.

Even though we don't have weather as bad as you guys in Chicago, I too wish the cruise was now!!! I can't stand winters.

Also, try to get into the Terrace Cafe for the set course dinners with wine pairings and limited to 60 people. It is a well kept secret! So Shhhhhh!!! You may need to contact the Maitre D' as soon as you board and get your name in. Le Champagne on the other hand is probably something to do once, but too expensive of an upcharge in my estimation. However, if you are an oneophile, it may be worth the experience.
