Chip,
You have reason to be proud. Ranching is a tough business and despite sometimes being a difficult way to make a living, it can be a good way of life if you're suited to it. Way too many family ranches and farms in this country have been lost for the reasons you stated.
Some of my posts were tongue in cheek but no disrepect was meant to anyone.
