Heading to Tahiti in less than two weeks (PG, Aug 7 sailing) with a pre cruise stay at the Le Meridien. We have eaten at the hotel before and found the food average and very expensive. I know to expect this throughout the island.

However, is there any other alternatives within walking distances in that area? If I can only get average food is there somewhere else with an average price? Did I hear about some type of pizza place nearby? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, what is the time estimate and cost to go from the Le Meridien to the docks? While it is included in our transfers, we may want to go to the dock early to shop in that area. I'm assuming I can just have the shuttle haul my luggage to the dock for the 3pm departure?

Good pizza place next door! A very short walk right outside of the property. I think it's a great idea to eat there.

Don't leave any valuables in your room or your suitcase. Things were stolen. Keep valuables with you at all times. I also think it's wise to take a taxi and not the shuttle to the airport. You miss the crowds. I think it was about $25.

As Sedona indicates, the Pizza Place next door is really good. They do have other items on the menu besides Pizza and I thought it was pretty good. There is also a Chinese restaurant across the street that was not bad. Kind of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy.....but something different if you will be staying there for some time.
