Denise, I've been interested in a river cruise for a few years. My big desire is to cruise the Danube. Yours sounds really nice. In Honfleur, the Eugene Boudin Museum is a must see. He was an impressionist and teacher to Monet, I think. Honfleur will remind you on Portofino in a way, though with a French accent. It is quite lovely and picturesque. I am so jealous that you get to go to Giverny. I have been "dying" to get there since I read the children's book and saw the video, Linnea in Monet's Garden.

Thanks, Joanna, Donna and Beth! Yes, we really are looking forward to this very new experience. Winning that Deilmann contest afforded us a great opportunity to give this a try.

Thanks for your wonderful suggestions, Beth! I hear Honfleur is charming. We've never been to Portofino. A visit to Giverny and Monet's house! Well! I can hardly wait! The Danube river cruise interests us, too. If we like this river cruise as much as we are anticipating, we would greatly consider that. The only reason we chose the Seine itinerary is because I have a connection at Le Grand InterCon in Paris and it is a great time to stay there, pre-cruise. He is soon transferring to our new property in Bora Bora! And, we've never been to Paris.

Of course, I will report back and give you the scoop from our perspective and experiences.

Denise,

I too will be waiting for your report on your river cruise. A few years ago we considered doing the Cezanne as well but then decided instead to do Navigator to Alaska!

I went to Giverney a few years ago and even though it was not peak season(we went in August) for the gardens it was a fantastic experience! If you are an admirer of Monet like I am you will see in the gardens/ bridge/ pond the inspiration for so many of his paintings!

Like Beth says, Honfleur is delightful. I see you are there 2 days so , if interested, you could probably also do the D-day beaches.

Denise, it goes without saying - you'll have a wonderful experience and isn't it wonderful that you won the cruise!

My son and I will be on BLISS but somewhere along the line I managed to miss what it stands for. I believe there will be a few LCTers going and am really looking forward to it. This is only my second cruise but have definitely been 'bitten'. Lee

Maria,

I am very much an admirer of Monet! Looking forward to all the ports. I think it will be a really lovely itinerary and we are ready for a great new experience.

We will be visiting Honfleur both this year and next. Our Med cruise on the Voyager, June 2, 2007, will have a stopover there, too. If it's as nice as everyone says it is, we'll welcome a return visit.

Lee,

Winning only made this trip that much sweeter! I hope your trip plans are coming together nicely! BLISS sounds wonderful!

Denise, I too am terribly jealous of the whole trip, but especially the visit to Giverny. I even thought of trying to get there the day we are in Honfleur on WAVE, but decided it would be a long trip, and everybody says Honfleur is very pleasant. Monet will have to wait for another time.

Denise, your trip sounds so exquisite.
We are thinking for where to go in Honfleur. We've never been to Paris, it was one of the excurions from the ship but it's 120 miles each way from port, so, we may just save it for another time.

Kathy and Wendy,

It seems there never is enough time to see it all, is there? Whatever we miss the first time around in Honfleur, we will be sure to do next year.

I will be really looking forward to your WAVE reports. I know you both will be sharing some excellent information and experiences.

With the exception of private touring in London and Paris, we will take the Deilmann excursions. The cost is quite reasonable.

Wishing you a wonderful time on your Oceania cruise, Jeanine! It's a fantastic itinerary! I hope you, too, will report back on the great time you had!

Kathy,

I don't know if you would be interested as it makes for a long day( from Honfleur) but the experience of going to the D-Day beaches and the American Cemetery on Omaha Beach is very moving. That is one experience I'll never forget! I want to take my kids some day as it is a very graphic way of understanding the sacrifices that the US did during WWII

I am on this one, too! (June 21st, but leaving the 19th 2 days early for a stay a couple nights at the IC Beachcomber...to get in the mood!)

From the sound of it, Kristin, it sounds like we all really need this vacation. Looking forward to meeting you and your husband there!

Looking forward to meeting many LCT contributors and the illustrious Ngaire on BLISS. Are we also lucky enough to have the handsome Captain Dag?? We are traveling with 3 other couples from Lake Charles, La. and will be in 655 - the others on 8. This is a first Regent Cruise for our friends - Hopefully it will be "Blissful Sailing". We are all very excited.

Jan & Charles:

Do hope our paths cross although I'm sure you're going to be busy with your fellow travelers during a very port intensive cruise.

We lived in Baton Rouge from '83 to '85 and have MANY fond memories of the people and the food.

Cheers! Ray & Penny
