I have actually hung my two formal outfits in the closet of the room where I pack (I bought a new top for my skirt last weekend in Annapolis, had to see how it looked).

Yes, the 8 days won't be so long once you all leave because we leave on 11/8 for Funchal. I just wish Don and Diana would be there with us - we sure were looking forward to meeting them.

I have my formal outfits ready to go - bought one last week and another one a month ago. Tom decided against a tux and will wear his black suit.

I've started packing :app: but it's for PANDA--we leave a week from today. We'll be gone over 30 days, so this is a good practice run for CROSS. I figure if I can succeed in keeping under the weight limit for this trip, then CROSS should be no problem. I've taken a few tips from Ngaire for packing--basic black with various tops and jackets (the ones for formal nights are sparkley)--and I'm limiting myself to just four pair of shoes. I've started packing most of my stuff in a wheeled duffle bag also. The bag weighs next to nothing and even stuffed full it only weighs about 35 lbs.

You, as well as many other LCTers, have packing down to a science.

We've taken some wise suggestions and have pared our packing down considerably. Mix and match and add some sparklies is the way to go.

You are all going to have one fantastic time on PANDA! Seamail, please.

Peggy, don't forget to leave some room for all the shopping we are going to do in China!

Between Panda and Cross I think we are in store for some great seamail - I am so excited for all of you!!!!

PANDA is a wonderful itinerary. Looking forward to some terrific seamail and photos.

We were just discussing packing for PANDA. I am not looking forward to it. I have a better approach for what to take for formal & informal nights. thanks to FJORDS. We're going to try for a 26" and a 22" suitcase + one carryon backpack. My master packer is down with a nasty case of sciatica. I'm just not as diligent in testing the maximum tensile strength of the zippers and canvas on the suitcases.
